awesome! glad you enjoyed it :) trying to write up the things I find super helpful (code-related or not) and share them. especially when I can't find any good docs on how to get something working lol
interesting! Haven't had any issues w/ netflix yet; wondering if it's an eventually-consistent thing or a static config on their part (i.e. will I eventually get blocked? not sure lol)
ah sorry if that's not clear; I started by running Pi Hole on my RBP, then added it to a VPN setup. Nice to have it running at home to block our other devices though
I'd love to know if anyone has suggestions/thoughts on what they'd like to see in this book; the TOC is pretty comprehensive I feel, but would love to know what else people would be looking for! :)
2 reasons: 1) I wrote the blog post and wanted to get it out there; 2) I thought it had already been submitted due to its breadth and how it was created. Turns out I was wrong, though. There you go: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=10527831
This looks awesome; the color pickers I've seen for react so far are either really minimally complete or too rigid. Nice to have a solid one to reference/use if I need it. Thanks for your work on this!
Congrats to the io.js team! I know there's lots going on in the node vs. io.js world/debate/comparison/everything, but regardless it's so great to see a team working on an OSS project so well.
Totally valid -- I guess I just like to see projects that try something new out, develop their own design, or at least put their own spin on something. Just a personal preference, really.
Is it just me, or does it bother anyone that the design seems SO ripped from Github? Github's UI has a lot to be said for it and perhaps emulation is more of a compliment here, but...even the icon font glyphs...
I can get back on; able to see posts from hours ago, noting within 5 hours-ish. Anyone with an ops background able to give a JS eng who has no ops experience like myself a glimpse into what bringing services back online like that looks like? No experience with ddos mitigation techniques
