> even a minimal setup (1 vCPU, 2 GiB RAM, 5-minute session lifetime) would put us north of $70,000 a year based on Daytona's per-second sandbox pricing ($0.0504/h per vCPU, $0.0162/h per GiB RAM)

$70k?

how about if we round off one zero? Give us $7000.

That number still seems to be very high.

> OpenAI won't because deepfakes.

Do you think someone would spend 5 or 6 figures on a license and hardware to create deepfakes?

Could OpenAI have released a local paid version, instead of shutting down Sora? Maybe. A lot of users have beefy machines.

If larry hadn't sucked dRump's c*ck that hard, he'd not be in the free downfall that he is in today. He's dismantling America brick by brick. I hope he goes bankrupt soon.
mandeepj··on What if AI doesn't need more RAM but better math?
But not everyone has to pay mathematicians, like RAM :-)
mandeepj··on Goldman Sachs now reckons that oil could take out the 2008 record of $147
I don’t estimates of these investments firms seriously! They talk like today’s scenarios will stay put forever - whether good or bad.
mandeepj··on Iran-linked hackers breach FBI director's personal email
> The thing getting overlooked is all of the recent moves by Trump all lead back to China.

Are you trying to frame the twice accidental president as some sort of visionary? He doesn’t even remember what he said 5 mins ago. If he had planned or even had any clue about wars, we’d not be in this mess. He insulted Zelenskyy last year but ended up asking for his help.

Do you recall orange phenomenon was asking for China’s help just last week, let’s wait for it, to act against their friends, which you called their subsidiaries :-). You can’t script this horror show, even if you wanted to.

mandeepj··on Iran-linked hackers breach FBI director's personal email
> To my knowledge Iran seems to have pretty advanced cyber capabilities and increasingly fewer reasons to hold back.

Iran isn’t alone!! They are a quad along with China, Russia, and North Korea.

> Then it could apply to jobs

Almost every job application has its own UI style. Without training the bot on many different job sites, not sure how it can apply to all those jobs.

Ceasefire alone? Seems like there was insider knowledge even on start of war bidding.
mandeepj··on US and TotalEnergies reach 'nearly $1B' deal to end offshore wind projects

> restaurant showcase their menu by taking real photos of their dishes,

Not sure if I follow all that! What’s a real photo? So, no one from a restaurant can take a photo of their own dish which they just made?

> helping a hotel make sure a delivery driver can find a drop-off location by taking photos of the hotel entrance

Hotel staff can’t update Yelp, Google Maps location with the info? Or can’t drivers call the hotel or location? Also, it seems to be a very infrequent occurrence, Once per driver maybe?

mandeepj··on OpenClaw is a security nightmare dressed up as a daydream
> get a travel agent?

I think: to Uber founder, you’d have said get a driver or yellow cab :-)

To TurboTax founder, you’d have said get a tax accountant :-)

mandeepj··on OpenClaw is a security nightmare dressed up as a daydream
Have you tried NemoClaw? Not endorsing it; just enquiring. Nvidia is claiming to provide guardrails with that.

> booking a flight

> Doing this manually is already pretty trivial

No, it’s not! You are the one who made it trivial by using three words to define! How about if I could only fly out between 9 am-noon next Friday? Also, combine it with hotel and rental car. Many times total $ between sites could be a difference of close to $200 or more along with better itinerary. That’s just the surface. The more preferences you add, the complex it becomes, so make it a right scenario for agent automation along with calendar management which has similar complexity.

mandeepj··on Show HN: Will my flight have Starlink?

I know; I thought they'd have a handy parts list on their new site. But you are right; I should have looked in their Google Drive docs. There's a section - "Bill of materials and cost breakdown", but details are buried somewhere. Thanks, though.

Is there a parts list?
