this sucks. i use smuxi specifically so all my chat apps can be in the same window. why do this? your web app is just not nice to use for text chat. its busy and poisoned by emotes and confusing menus.

can't take over the car industry when you can barely deliver 14% of what you promised: https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/20/jpmorgan-slashes-its-tesla-m...

not as good as the supercharger network, obviously, but there are level 2's everywhere there are dealerships nowadays and there will only be more chargers as time goes on. for long trips we use my diesel 3-series.

about 2/3's of this car is built by LG, if that makes you feel better

to say i don't use the brakes is a little bit of a misnomer, as i use them at stoplights in order to activate the rear brake lights for other drivers. two more bits of trivia: the brake lights activate during regen for more than .2g of deceleration, and the brake rotor metal is formulated not to rust.

we own one, can agree that its great! it's my wife's daily driver, and with my own trips in it, i can't even imagine getting another ICE when the time comes to get a new car for myself. the L mode itself is almost a new driving experience, controlling the car fully through just one pedal and trying to eke out every last drop of kinetic energy back into the battery, and making it a challenge to never use the brakes. it's nearly as fun as a manual transmission. i mentioned this before in another thread, but the most hilarious part of ownership is the maintenance schedule. it's as follows:

* every 12,500mi: rotate tires

* every 22,500mi: change cabin air filter

* every 5 years: replace brake fluid

* every 150,000mi: replace battery cooling fluid

not OP but we were directed by our doctor to supplement with Vitamin D, which we do once daily. easy fix
mach5··on Tesla Model 3 First Drive Review
i can't speak for the Model 3, but i own a Bolt, here's the service schedule for that:

* every 7,500mi: rotate tires

* every 22,500mi: change cabin air filter

* every 5 years: replace brake fluid

* every 150,000mi: replace battery cooling fluid

that's it. crazy!

mach5··on Why I hate Slack and you should too
yes, i know im old and quaint, but most of these problems are completely solved by connecting to slack via an IRC client. they do a good job with the compatibility, snippets are just links, they echo your own msgs back to you if you use the app, etc. this way, you are only getting notifications like @here when you are using your computer, aka, working. i like to use smuxi, with a headless remote server configuration, this way i have slack, gchat, irc, and twitter all in one window that sync with all my other computers.

mach5··on El Niño Could Grow Into a Monster, New Data Show
or not. from NOAA:

The model predictions of ENSO for this summer and beyond are relatively unchanged from last month. Almost all the models indicate that ENSO-neutral (Niño-3.4 index between -0.5oC and 0.5oC) will persist through the rest of the Northern Hemisphere spring 2014 (Fig. 6). While all models predict warming in the tropical Pacific, there is considerable uncertainty as to whether El Niño will develop during the summer or fall. If westerly winds continue to emerge in the western equatorial Pacific, the development of El Niño would become more likely. However, the lower forecast skill during the spring and overall propensity for cooler conditions over the last decade still justify significant probabilities for ENSO-neutral. The consensus forecast is for ENSO-neutral to continue through the Northern Hemisphere spring 2014, with about a 50% chance of El Niño developing during the summer or fall (click CPC/IRI consensus forecast for the chance of each outcome).

sooo flip a coin i guess?
