I’m not sure what in my brain says “Telemetry? Absolutely not”, but that’s how it is for me (and why I don’t use the Developer Edition).

I’m not sure what in my brain says “Telemetry? Absolutely not”, but that’s how it is for me (and why I don’t use the Developer Edition).
1. You can disable infinite scroll. When I’ve been scrolling Reddit for 20 or so posts, it’s a sobering reminder that I’ve gained nothing of value on Page 1, and Page 2 likely won’t be any better.
2. You can disable r/all. If it’s there, odds are I will look at it. Without it, I don’t feel tempted to wander outside of my curated feed of programming languages and such.
Two really excellent features to combat the addictive noise I have trouble filtering.
Whatever cost savings Teams affords, the difference is more than lost in confusion, miscommunication, and frustration across the workplace.
May I never have to use it again.
Interestingly, my team now uses Discord for communication and we really love it.
A couple links have been mentioned already, but I'll add two more that got me really excited about Phoenix + Fly:
1. Chris McCord talking about joining Fly.io and all the cool stuff they're working on: https://podcast.thinkingelixir.com/62
2. Kurt Mackey talking about Fly.io before Chris joined the company: https://podcast.thinkingelixir.com/56
And in case anyone is interested, this is the Phoenix Framework homepage: https://www.phoenixframework.org/
What a time to be a software engineer, Phoenix + Elixir + Liveview + Tailwind + Fly.io is just so, so exciting.
Both are great, but I think Elixir is more beginner-friendly. Through the course of learning one though, you'll inevitably see some of the other, which is pretty cool. :)
If the moving background of the Nova website is so distracting that you can't bare to explore the rest of the framework, here are some other links to explore:
- HexDocs: https://hexdocs.pm/nova/quick-start.html
- Github: https://github.com/novaframework/nova
- Erlang Forums: https://erlangforums.com/c/erlang-frameworks/nova-forum/65
- Erlang Slack: https://erlef.org/slack-invite/erlanger
Long story short, get involved with Erlang (and Elixir)! They're both awesome, can't recommend them enough.
But there's an interesting side effect of having a theme repository with over 200 applications: app discovery! Whether it's learning about interesting projects (BetterDiscord, MatterMost, Obsidian) or blasts from the past (I hadn't thought about BBEdit in a long time! And does anyone remember Brackets?), it's kind of a cool spot to find and remember things.
Good work and thank you to everyone who has worked on these themes, I use them every day for a lot of apps :)
1. LiveBook is awesome and just continues to get better.
2. The Elixir core team is pumping out some fascinating stuff, taking inspiration from other languages and ecosystems and improving upon the products.
3. The author of this post is Mark Ericksen, co-host of the Thinking Elixir podcast, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an Elixir podcast! It's my favorite.
4. This is a really cool article, I hadn't thought of using LiveBook as an actual BI tool but I might actually try it out. I've thought about using it as documentation, and in tandem with something like this might get me over the hump.
I need a good Dracula Light theme.
Besides, does blocking ads and trackers not at least partially alleviate the issue? Works well for me and, in combination with a reader view, is a significantly better experience than AMP. I'd argue that those "hackers" you very much hate are the exact ones fighting against corporate bloat on the web.
Looks cool by the way, I think Svelte is a really great product.
Warning, graphic and not for the faint of heart: https://mobile.twitter.com/AugieLens/status/1355249355507163...
There's a much simpler answer: increase the size of the net. Hockey sticks are pretty incredible these days, and the torque generated from flexing the stick is pretty unbelievable. Playing in net in hockey is mostly about setting up at the right angles and blocking the highest percentage of the net that you can, combined with athleticism and instinct.
But a bigger goal would lead to more goals, if that's the end goal for the NHL.
Let's also help those that have been left behind though. We have the ability to help everyone.
If your argument is that eBay and Amazon are so critical to the fabric of the internet that special rules must apply to them, I wholeheartedly disagree.

This questionable book that Dr. Seuss Enterprises no longer wishes to publish can be at your front door tomorrow. Enjoy.
Dr. Seuss Enterprises stopped printing these books because they decided the books were insensitive and offensive. Should we force them to print more of these books?
