I don't know how much effect it has on the quality of the community, but I think it would be wrong(and could even be administratively overwhelming to manage that unless it is a paid forum) to exclude people who are new to the startup world.
Just out of curiousity, I hope you don't mind me asking, what business do you want to start? Are you working on an idea already?
How to contact you? I have a suggestion for this effort of yours. It is a nice thing to do, but there are certain things that you need to consider for this.
Cheers
Do self-employed people not have to register their business? I thought everyone who has a business has to register with companies house and file tax return.
That home page is developed in Wt.
Oh no! Please! It helps neither the candidate nor the company. Will any of the leetcode exercises map to the job the candidate will be interviewing for?
My preferred way is this:
1. Introducing the candidate to all the team members with whom the candidate is going to work, if selected.
2. Pair programming with few of them on actual task or some similar task.
3. Solo programming on a problem that somewhat maps to one of the tasks the team is working on.
4. Asking the candidate to present the solution to the team on the whiteboard and candidate taking questions from them on the presented solution.
5. Vote from the team members on hire/no-hire decision.
* I am not a front-end developer, so I use the easiest tools for the job.
Once I met Cory Doctorow at Judge Business School at Cambridge where he gave a very eye-opening lecture on DRM. Got an opportunity to do some small talk with him. It was very interesting.
From what age onwards? And what should they do for choices before that age?
As you can see from the above description, starting a business is not a click-of-a-finger activity. It takes a lot of time just to identify a problem that needs solution; and then build that solution.
Thank you!
"More rejections to come!"
That's the spirit! Never give up :)
So the idea is to develop a platform where both candidates and companies can evaluate each other over a longer duration in the "online virtual work environment" setting rather than an artificially designed/borrowed few hours interview process. The project is basically a "show, don't just tell" approach to understanding both the candidate and the company over a period before either the candidate or the company approaches with a proposal to move to the next step.
Anyone interested in this idea? You will find my email on my HN profile page if you want to brainstorm this idea and work together.
The way you have put it, it looks like you don't require angel investors. They do not work this way. What you need is a bank loan, which will not cut into your business ownership and at the same time you will get the required funds(with your claim of returning the money back in 2-6 months!)
Have you tried business loan with your local banks?
