lurkinggrue··on True Goodbye: ‘Using TrueCrypt Is Not Secure’
Lets just fork the sucker and call it a day. They developer is anonymous and if he wanted to stop people he would have to reveal his identity and that is not going to happen.
lurkinggrue··on We'd lose our security certificate if we allowed pasting
I agree but it wouldn't surprise me if they did it all wrong and were just passing credentials.
lurkinggrue··on Customers You Do Not Want
This explains why many products I love go away. Dammit.
lurkinggrue··on Facebook's Realtime Updates API has been down for 12 days
Nice, At least it's down in realtime.
lurkinggrue··on RSS: What Not Dying Looks Like
You can say the same thing about software. I used to use the built in reader to Opera but all that was dropped recently when Opera dropped their codebase and turned into Chrome.
lurkinggrue··on RSS: What Not Dying Looks Like
Or you are somebody like me that has about 60 feeds in his news reader and looks at it every day.

Oddly enough I've been using the old reader:

lurkinggrue··on We'd lose our security certificate if we allowed pasting
Or they have a web front end that goes over to an old mainframe.
lurkinggrue··on Let’s Keep the Internet Dumb
Yeah! Why should I have to deal with slower internet because you are using Netflix! You should have to pay more to your ISP if you want to use some bandwidth hogging service like that.
lurkinggrue··on Firefox 29
What I find weird about the design is the idea of "Getting the other tabs out of the way" idea. I don't care about the selected tab as I can see what page it it. When I go looking for another tab to go to they make it harder to read! The hell?
lurkinggrue··on Firefox 29
I like change as long as I can turn off things that annoy. I do hate change that takes features away and unfortunately that is the current trends.
lurkinggrue··on Firefox 29
I had to separate that and disable all the searching on the address bar. I got sick of it not quite understanding what I wanted.
lurkinggrue··on How to exploit home routers for anonymity
Could be the processors as well, better to forge the chips by hand to be sure.
lurkinggrue··on WordPass – Hate passwords, love passphrases
Couldn't you just make a ruleset for this? Might make it a bit easier since it's all dictionary words.
lurkinggrue··on God's Number is 20
I suppose you could just forge your own silicon and software and submit that as part of the proof.
lurkinggrue··on Paramount Afraid Tweeted Stills of ‘Top Gun’ Compete With Actual Movie
I prefer my movies in animated .gif format or ascii via telnet.
lurkinggrue··on I Still Don't Want To Be Part of Your Fucking Ecosystem
One reason I never buy drm'ed media.
lurkinggrue··on A Bitcoin Address with 782,000 BTC Moved Through It
I blew all my money on Beanie Babies and tulips.
lurkinggrue··on Bitcrypt broken
Don't run unsolicited software.
lurkinggrue··on Silk Road 2 Hacked, All Bitcoins Stolen
I'm finding it quite funny and saw this coming a mile away.
lurkinggrue··on Silk Road 2 Hacked, All Bitcoins Stolen
There is quite a bit anarcho capitalist bent to a portion of the Bitcoin community and a number of people are going to be prone to pointing and laughing when something like this happens.

Not sure if that makes it right but people will be people.

lurkinggrue··on The Day the Internet Didn’t Fight Back
Sorry I was looking at cat videos.
lurkinggrue··on Google Doodle Upholds Gay Rights Ahead of Sochi Olympics
The road to hell is paved with people shouting "Think of the children!"
lurkinggrue··on Google Doodle Upholds Gay Rights Ahead of Sochi Olympics
The mens ice skating team would want a word with you....
lurkinggrue··on Google Doodle Upholds Gay Rights Ahead of Sochi Olympics
I keep trying with my partner and we have yet to have kids.
lurkinggrue··on Google Doodle Upholds Gay Rights Ahead of Sochi Olympics
So... gay people should leave the country or suck it up and breed?
lurkinggrue··on Apple approves Dogecoin iOS app
So wise.
lurkinggrue··on Money for Nothing
Now look at them yo-yo's that's the way you do it you code the app on the iPhone store. That ain't workin' that's the way you do it Money for nothin' and chicks for free
lurkinggrue··on Microsoft is Dead (2007)
Sometimes a designers experience does not match other people. Example is I use reboot and logout far more than I use Shutdown
lurkinggrue··on Microsoft is Dead (2007)
"This highlights a style of software design shared by Microsoft and the open source movement, in both cases driven by a desire for consensus and for "Making Everybody Happy," but it's based on the misconceived notion that lots of choices make people happy, which we really need to rethink."

Unfortunately we are down this road and I'm unhappy with software taking away features I use. I can't wait for chrome to be one white screen with no buttons.

lurkinggrue··on Put.io
You won't be uploading which would be the case with torrenting.
