I have been procrastinating for long and want to do it this time. I was thinking of two ideas as I put in my above link and decided to work on an app for hosting the contests of fellow Startups.

I like the first idea as specifically targeted towards the restaurant industry. we use to get snail mail discounts coupons from restaurants for your birthdays. those restaurants could be your initial target customers as well.

I was thinking about an idea to cover the startup apps, though not on a CPM basis but on CPC basis. And I was thinking to have it as Sponsored Post kind off item, one app at a time similar to AppSumo. Does anybody here still feels the value in that ?

I didn't get the difference between Techmeme & techofnow. can you elaborate more? may be I am too used to techmeme that I was seeing whether the "+" symbol comes up before the dicussion section. Also, you can probably show few discussions and show a link as "more discussion on the same topic"

I partly agree with staunch for MVP kind off startups. For example, creating an iPhone app or a website in a bootstrapping mode will fit in. If you don't want to be a BIG grown up company but want to be only a Startup, then this is the right thing to do. My belief is that if you can get a decent job with not much mental pressure and a steady income, then use that money as your startup capital to get a freelancer for developing your product. Once you see more traction and customers, then GO FOR IT and quit your job.

It's a cool idea.. I like it too!
