I think one of the more compelling aspects of these virtual currencies is the decentralized nature.
Parody is a protected form of free speech, why does he ask permission? If he is going to complain about someone not giving him permission, he should just go ahead and do it.
Update: after reading my own link, I have the answer to my own question.
Especially number seven on the list. I get the feeling that any online job posting decreases your chances of getting noticed by a significant amount. I know in my company we only post stuff online because we feel obligated, we don't give those applicants nearly as much credence as we would someone who is referred by someone in our network.
In techspeak, "pivot" is really a euphemism for "Our idea failed, but we have way too much venture and emotional capital invested in this thing to bail in a heap of embarrassment, so instead let's totally reinvent what we thought would be our life's work."
My initial reaction is that they have assembled a team of people to work on crazy ideas to see if any of them catch on and then ideas that catch on will be spun off into separate companies. Sounds like a good match for Kevin's product ADD, but I feel like this could quickly spin into Digg again where people are spread too thin working on products with no future.
