Make the work market, business market and everything 90% less complicated across EU. I would actually dictatorially made all work and company laws obsolete. EU company, flat tax 20%, goodbye. One month no reason firing.
I just thought about how crazy is the car situation, you move somewhere with your car, for couple months and you SHOULD reregister your car, because of law and insurance, costs money, then you go back and again deregister and it costs money again. Millions of things like this. As if there cant be one EU car register and just insurance flow based on where you reside. Even the residence is different by every counry. Some need you to change “permanent” residence and ID and everything it touches. Some you just say i live here now, here is electricity bill, done.
Law harmonization is the stupidest thing. Either make one EU law or do not put nose into it. Every country makes it differently, some even more strict than EU requires for no reason.
Once you have psych. diagnosis its over, doctors see you throught that lens. Ah yes, he has anxiety, of course his symptoms are psychosomatic and there is no need for more testing.
My uncle was schizophrenic, medicated and living OK life after years and years of delusions. He also had untreated diabetes for years, but was on the right track.
He went to doctor with pain in belly, they sent him home and told him nothing is wrong, couple days after he died from ruptured gallbladder...
Yes but it never ends there. Jira mess grows with middle managers trying to suck some kind of reports out of tasks. And trying to manage everything in it. 20 ticket states, 15 bug types and using epics for wrong reasons, every board setup differently. Moving between teams is hell. It is intergalactic spaceship when all you need to is go to have a smooth car ride.
I think at least 60% companies that use Jira could do better with just Trello. I dont know how it is possible to create such a horrible mess with task manager and some reports. But it probably keeps the managers and POs bussy so :D
There is like 0 cost for distribution, switching and using LLMs "AI" and other tools. Whatever comes, comes to everybody. There is basically 0 first movers advantage, that cannot be overcome in couple of months when new usefull tools become available.
Tourist trap as i see it is restaurant that will give you below average local food, for 3 times the price a good local food should cost, just because it is in the middle of the tourist area. Or tacky bars for tourists with different "attractions" to sell you watered down alcohol for high prices. For me, this is much worse than one time entrance to attraction. Because tourists thinks that this is the local culture.
There was one place i liked to go, it was kind of chill bar in a huge palazzo styled room. Like ballroom/theatre, with chill seats and sometimes small events. The place was huge and there was very little people. It got into tourist guides and is packed to the tits, with 4 western european teenagers getting out of bathroom stall at the same time... havent been there in years. So yeah. Locals used to but dont anymore :D
The issue is corruption and it is in capitalism, socialism and communism. Corruption is everywhere all the time. Capitalism is just redistribution of resources. There is also redistribution of resources in communism and there the corruption i would say is even bigger. Less in amount for one specific person, but spread out throught society that it rots from inside.
I just started photography last year and it makes much sense. This and:
- do it with intention, to copy or simulate to learn how to do what you want.
If you just go out and take random pictures you will not learn much. If you go and try to simulate some style, lightning, you learn a lot.
I also think most of my pictures really suck even if i try. But then i look on pictures of someone who has "photographer" in profile with couple thousand subscribers and most of their pictures also suck.
I hope one day to bridge the gap.
For me it is a mix of things, i referenced Star Trek because author of the comment mentioned it in comparison. But for me fantasy is in the past in the "better times" and magic. SciFi for me looks into the future or alternative reality enhanced by technology.
Dune for me is SciFi, because space, spaceships, and very little magic. It is about comparison of societies rejecting and embracing technology, with little magic on top.
Why are some people so narrow minded? Different style, get over it. Not everything SciFi must be "true scifi like Star Trek". This rant reminds me of Big Bang theory.
I started photography last year, i shoot raw because i dont like sony colors. But I have very quick process: "auto", little fidgeting with sliders, one in 10 photos gets a mask for sky and then i apply some preset that i like most for the photo.
I just cant spend 30minutes on one photo.
But the editing process is very subjective.
even in era of film there was a lot of processing, colors with chemicals, fixing defects. Just manual photoshop.
I understand the simplicity and joy of purists, but to each his own i guess.
Yeah, i wonder what was the fiber i take for someone from egypt or hunter gatherers. I get it that in our modern diet, fiber is better than sugar and plastic stuff made in factories combining oils and sugar into something that looks like food. But if a person is regular and does not have any gut issues, how would more fiber help?
I don’t know. Something about eating a lot of fiber. I cant do it for example. I eat some veggies, but probably not “enough” fiber compared to modern recommendations and i cant process it. I am doing OK without it from subjective perspective.
Also i am interested how much nonsoluble fiber did regular people eat before modern vegetable and fruits. Potatoes and cabbage, wheat and some roots and max some berries max.
Like where would the need for the fiber come from evolutionary.
There is going to be some big AHA moment tied so couple food practices. Like washing chicken in chlorine or something. I wonder how are the stats in other developed countries. The title says US.
This is imho great MB for traveling, you want to edit some pictures, read/write and edit some code without being afraid of you 3K MB Pro getting damaged or stolen? Great!
I want to do more travel and photography, with occasional light work on my own project. And this feels like better option than iPad, because i can use Xcode and android Studio. And for +- the same price.
But for any real work, like coding/photo/video you just pick Pro with parameters you want and you are good. For office work you can choose air and for low level students or whatever you can have neo.
You still basically know what you need, without needing to try really hard to understand it.
What Imperial will if you dont mind asking? That they stoped buying gas from country that attacked europe and tries to overthrow democracy in other EU countries? Their delusion was in turning off nuclear... and it was exactly what russia wanted. By funding anti nuclear protests in EU, and selling more and more gas to make Europe attached. So when Russia does something bad, it is harder to sanction them.
What happend in Germany is real political failure in seeing this, maybe even treason.
Very small app for framing photos on Mac/ipad/iphone. I know some web alternatives. But when i wanted to add borders to photos I took to upload to IG i used imagemagick. I want to make something stylish(no tacky borderds), also usable for batch processing. I have prorotype and need to fix some issues.
