kuczmama··on eBay Robbed This Man of $4700 and Suspended His Account When He Asked Questions
I also just had my ebay account banned for no apparent reason. I listed some watches that I had, and with no reason banned the account.

I guess I'll be using facebook marketplace from now on.

kuczmama··on What the world will be like in a hundred years (1922)
This is one of the most insightful articles I've ever read when it comes to predicting the future. If you are on the fence of whether or not to read this article I highly recommend you read it.
kuczmama··on [dead]
These aren't bitcoin hacks. I would consider these bitcoin ecosystem hacks.
kuczmama··on A proof P = NP was accidentally published in TOCT
Here's the paper: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/351475502_A_polynom...
kuczmama··on Downpour: DRM Free Audiobooks
This looks like a very cool service, but there are a few problems with DRM music I've been unable to solve, I would love to hear suggestions if anyone has this figured out. But for now I haven't used anything better than audible.

1. Syncing audio between devices. (i.e. switch from listening on my phone to computer, etc)

2. Automatically back up the files, so when I switch devices the books are still there

3. A good app that that at minimum has the ability to listen to the audiobooks at double speed, but it would be nice if it could load the album art for free, and book description.

4. Also, it's really nice to say "Alexa, ready my audiobook", and it continues from where it left off.

kuczmama··on Take Back Your Digital Reputation
This is a pretty cool idea.
kuczmama··on Ask HN: What's Missing from Covid19 Reporting?
Here you go. This shows a breakdown of fatality rate by age. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/coronavirus-age-se...
kuczmama··on Show HN: Version Control for Databases
This is a really cool idea. Thanks for sharing this. I will definitely give it a go if you have postgres.
kuczmama··on NanoNeuron – simple JavaScript functions that explain how machines learn
This is fantastic. Probably the most approachable example I've seen
kuczmama··on Show HN: Simple File Hosting on a CDN
Congrats on the launch. This is a very beautiful landing page. Did you use a landing page builder or is it all hand-coded?
kuczmama··on How to run your own mail server (2017)
I wrote about this back in October 2017, it talks about setting up mailcow. I think it's far simpler than this article.

kuczmama··on Show HN: Page One – Read a book before you see its cover
Thanks! Yeah that is a great idea. No I actually had no idea that it was a book retailer in East Asia, that's pretty interesting.
kuczmama··on Show HN: Page One – Read a book before you see its cover
I made page one to better discover fiction books, so you can judge for yourself if you like it. There are currently ~350 books, but I plan to add more soon. I am working with one publisher at the moment, but if you would like to get your book added you can send me an email (in my profile). Let me know if you have any questions.
kuczmama··on Show HN: Screely – Instantly turn screenshots into beautiful images
This is really awesome! I will definitely use this. Congratulations on the launch :D Do you plan on allowing someone to add a text overlay in the future? That would really help. I really want to make screenshots that look kind of like this: https://s3.amazonaws.com/shopify-app-store/61a672cfd4a83c1ba...
kuczmama··on Show HN: Clip Grip- Add a handle to any container
Awesome! Thanks, good luck with the project.
kuczmama··on Show HN: Clip Grip- Add a handle to any container
Thanks for making this. It looks pretty cool, I just backed the product. I don't know if you tested this, but does it work on aluminum cans? To clarify: Does it crush the can? Or can I use it like I would a coozie?
kuczmama··on Break free from traditional email - Host your own server
I would also like to know about the this. If you wouldn't mind letting me know some of the things you did that could be really helpful
kuczmama··on Break free from traditional email - Host your own server
You can try sending it to yourself from different email providers and check to see if it went to spam. For example I created a gmail and outlook account and sent emails to it from my hosted email server, once I had things set correctly I was able to validate the emails I was sending weren't going into spam.
kuczmama··on Break free from traditional email - Host your own server
That is really interesting. Do you know of any articles that go into more details?
kuczmama··on Break free from traditional email - Host your own server
Virtualmin looks pretty cool, that looks like a great option.

Yeah thanks for the feedback, I need to get around to self-hosting my blog as well. I set up blogger a few years ago and I never got around to changing it.

kuczmama··on Break free from traditional email - Host your own server
Thank you very much! I never actually learned how to set a reverse DNS record for IPv6 because because vultr doesn't use IPv6 by default. I think that it might be a good idea to look into though.
kuczmama··on Break free from traditional email - Host your own server
Yeah that's true. I set up blogger a few years ago and I just haven't gotten around to self hosting it yet. I have a todo list of things I want to switch over to.
kuczmama··on Break free from traditional email - Host your own server
I wrote this article because I couldn't really find a good email tutorial that included DNS setup. I hope this helps you out. It's 2017 and it's surprisingly difficult to set up an email server, but hopefully this will make it a little bit easier. Please let me know if you need any help or you think I missed something major :D
kuczmama··on Show HN: Jolt Alarm – Wake up to a new song every day
Thanks. React Native looks like a great platform. I haven't really done much with that yet, but it looks really interesting. Unfortunately, android and IOS both have pretty big learning curves, but I think knowing both is pretty helpful. I think you can make better apps when you write it natively.
kuczmama··on Show HN: Jolt Alarm – Wake up to a new song every day
Yeah I like it. That sounds like a relatively easy thing to implement, which could "fix" having your phone's default alarm sound instead of the song of the day.
kuczmama··on Show HN: Jolt Alarm – Wake up to a new song every day
I'm glad you like it. :)
kuczmama··on Show HN: Jolt Alarm – Wake up to a new song every day
Both apps are native. I wrote the first app in Android, and then once I got that hammered out the way I liked, then switched to ios. On IOS it's written in Swift 3.
kuczmama··on Show HN: Jolt Alarm – Wake up to a new song every day
That's actually a good idea. I will definitely need to update the description to reflect that. Thanks for the feedback :)
kuczmama··on Show HN: Jolt Alarm – Wake up to a new song every day
Or an electric "jolt". But that might be a 2.0 feature. lol.
kuczmama··on Show HN: Jolt Alarm – Wake up to a new song every day
It's not my music. Actually, I get artists to submit their songs, and I pick the ones I like. Or I reach out to artists I like and ask for permission to use their songs.

No, all the phones will pull the data at a different time, so it should keep the load down from the server. Plus there is a bit of randomness thrown in for good measure.

It doesn't actually fall back to the last song. It caches the current song, but if for some reason the cache doesn't save for some reason. Or if you are offline. Your phone's default ringtone will play.
