ktzar··on GetWifi
So, nice design... What do you do?

Philippe, CTO “What shall we do tonight?”

I get it now, it's all a joke!

ktzar··on Uptalk is becoming more frequent among men
Not only people is sounding more like idiots, people say more and more idiotic things.
ktzar··on How to deploy your Node.js service
Is it me or it seems that people have forgotten (or never learnt) bash and make?

Automatic deployment is usually 3-10 steps that need to be run in a remote server. How's this better that a simple script that sshs into the server/servers, CDs into the project dir and does `make update`, which pulls some branch, runs any migrations and does an `apache gracefully` or similar whatever needed for the update?

ktzar··on My 7-Year Old Daughter’s First Programming Experience
I agree, kids are pretty good at isolating something they understand from the rest and just stay focus at what makes sense. If there's a piece of code that makes sense and they wrapped their heads around it doesn't matter if the rest is gibberish.
ktzar··on What Dreams May Come
Instead of donating to this guy I'd prefer to advocate for a free health system and a system that doesn't fuck up a family that has had enough bad luck to see its father die.

Having someone in his last months of life begging for money to not leave his family screwed up seems like a waste of those precious last weeks.

ktzar··on GIMP doesn't rotate correctly
Gimp abstracts differrent frames of animated gifs as layers. You may like it or not, (as well as the inability to link layers) but not call it "incorrect".
ktzar··on Iconic – An Icon System Designed for the Modern Web
Why does it show a waveform for "audio spectrum". Spectrum has no negative values, but imaginary values (which I'm sure the author is not aware of and are not represented like that).
ktzar··on Announcing gitsh: A dedicated shell for git commands
Nothing that a couple of aliases can't do...
ktzar··on What are the Windows A: and B: drives used for?
Are we that old? :(
ktzar··on Godaddy caves to UK Porn hysteria
Instead of having ISPs and governments with databases detailing which one of us wants to enjoy online porn, there should be a standard on how to provide adult material on the internet. If this was to be implemented it'd be easy to create simple technologies that users could use for filtering out this kind of material themselves. The use case that most people would find this good is blocking porn in kids' phones and computer accounts. The easiest solution being having a .xxx domain.
ktzar··on Do you need a degree to be a coder?
Not at all. TLDR; No. (I do have a degree and a M.S., and have found very competent coders, at least as competent as me, without one)
ktzar··on SOPA died in 2012, but Obama administration wants to revive part of it
I read SOAP... I'm so relieved it's not.
ktzar··on Chromecast Teardown
What I would really like them to make hackable is the protocol. Anyone knows what the chromecast is using? It'd be awesome to create "Chromecast" servers that can receive video and browser tabs wirelessly.
ktzar··on Introduction to HTML5 Canvas
Sorry but calling this a tutorial is clearly giving it too much credit when there are real and comprehensive tutorials like https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Canvas/Tut...
ktzar··on The Onion releases fartscroll.js
Brilliant. Thanks HTML5
ktzar··on Why Chemotherapy That Costs $70,000 in the U.S. Costs $2,500 in India

ktzar··on Linode vs. DigitalOcean – performance benchmarks
Maybe this is the reason, (from DigitalOcean): Backup User is solely responsible for the preservation of User's Data. Even with respect to Data as to which User contracts for backup services, DigitalOcean shall have no responsibility to preserve Data, the service is provided as is, without warranty.
