I second the third point. My most productive times are when I have my iPad right next to my laptop ready and waiting for me to need the internet. If I need to look something up I'll do so on the iPad and keep it open if I need to refer to it or turn it off again when I'm done. I find that not switching between windows really helps me stay in the zone. As soon as that code goes out of sight behind a browser, it's so easy for it to go out of mind.

The point is that when you're actually using your Macbook, you do not see the back of it. It makes more sense for it to be right side up when open so that everyone else sees it the proper way instead of right side up when closed and in the process of opening when the only person seeing it is you.

It's just one more example of design that makes sense.

As awesome as that setup is, I can't imagine any college being okay with it. Holes in the wall? Glue? Custom flooring even. The amount of damage that all must have caused would give Resident Life an aneurism. Where I go, we have a $400 housing deposit each year that is only returned to us if we didn't cause damage to the room. And then we get fines on top of that if we did anything that would be costly to repair.

I like the sound of that. And here I was thinking that being a student would be a disadvantage.
