Do you have this open sourced? Would be cool if it was
ko3us··on Show HN: Signed Work – NFTs, without a blockchain
Yeah that’s so cool! I’m super keen for this. I’ve hit you up on Twitter.
ko3us··on Show HN: Signed Work – NFTs, without a blockchain
How does this actually work? Is it open sourced?
ko3us··on Show HN: NFC Passport App
Cool idea. However, I feel like this needs to have some independent audit or open source it. I would be reluctant to be scanning and photographing a passport on the threat of identity theft.
ko3us··on Show HN: An open source clone of Kickstarter on Shopify
Wow this is really great! I was literally looking for something like this just a few days ago. Does it handle payments for a backer?
ko3us··on Live Sport – Virtual Crowd Sounds
I watched the first EPL game that returned to play (Man City vs Arsenal) with the virtual crowd sounds and I’ve got mixed feelings.

On one hand I love that games and live stream broadcasts are working together to try simple innovations like this.

But on the other hand, the way it worked in that particular game I watched was terrible.

Crowds are such an important aspect to live sport and can sway decisions or increase momentum or provide “fear” to the opposition. I wonder if there is a way to project “live streamers audio” into the stadiums in real time too

“Last week, Sky Sports announced that when the Premier League returns on June 17, viewers will be able to watch the remaining games with the addition of team-specific crowd noises and chants made in collaboration with EA Sports’ FIFA video game. “

ko3us··on Coronavirus tracking app privacy – an introduction
Great run down. Australia just released their version of a COVID-19 tracking app with a very similar approach.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-04-26/coronavirus-tracing-a...

The privacy policy: https://www.health.gov.au/using-our-websites/privacy/privacy...

So apparently when you sign up you provide: When you register for COVIDSafe We will ask you to consent to the collection of your: mobile phone number – so that you can be contacted if needed for contact tracing name – so the relevant health officials can confirm they are speaking to the right person when performing contact tracing. This will be easiest if you provide your full name, but you can use a pseudonym or fake name if you prefer age range– so health officials can prioritise cases for contact tracing, if needed postcode –to make sure health officials from the right State or Territory who work in your area can contact you, and to prioritise cases for contact tracing, e.g. hotspot areas

When you use COVIDSafe Your app will only record the following contact data: (1) the encrypted user ID, (2) date and time of contact and (3) Bluetooth signal strength of other COVIDSafe users with which you come into contact. This information will also be recorded on the other users’ devices. An encrypted user ID will be created every 2 hours. This will be logged in the National COVIDSafe data store (data store), operated by the Digital Transformation Agency, in case you need to be identified for contact tracing. No location data (data that could be used to track your movements) will be collected at any time. No user will be able to see the contact data stored on their device as it will be encrypted. Any attempt to decrypt contact data is an offence. Contact data stored on a device will be automatically deleted after 21 days. We cannot access any contact data stored on a device, or share this with health officials, unless and until a COVIDSafe user consents to upload the data to the data store.

I’ll be very intrigued to see how it goes.

ko3us··on Show HN: Teddy Bear Tracker iOS App
Would definitely appreciate it. Ooh nice I would be keen to see how you implemented those libraries.

I’d love to create a few little ideas using the base concept.

This is cool. Would you be ok open sourcing the base boilerplate?
ko3us··on OBS Studio: Open-source software for video recording and live streaming
OBS is awesome and it’s helped with my company to grow. We build plugins and overlays for OBS to make it super easy for streamers to reward their audience. Shameless plug check out get.incent.com/Ingage and get free reward overlays.

I think the community effort to grow OBS has been awesome.

ko3us··on Show HN: Poor Person's Bitly with GitHub Pages
This is awesome. It’s actually timely as i was looking at building something for an app. But I think I might use this.

Would be cool to have endpoints that updates the csv file. Or updating the location of the csv to a private location.

Very cool indeed though! Nice work.

ko3us··on Show HN: Ingage – Reward your live stream instantly for free
Hey HN Community :) Co-Founder here at Incent.

So Ingage is a product that we've been working on for a while now. It came about to help a way for live streamers like my friends reward their audience and thank them for watching and supporting.

So traditionally, many live stream platforms only allow the audience to donate "bits" or "bobs" back to the streamer. Sometimes it's real $ but in most cases its just some random thing that has no real value. It's pretty good that they are getting something, but we thought there has to be a better way to help streamers and influencers give back to their community too.

So we build Ingage. It's our engagement platform between streamers and their audiences.

Its completely free to join and use. What does it do? - It allows a streamer to create a campaign. Campaigns are the time blocks that they are going to stream. - When a streamer creates a campaign, we automatically generate a set of codes that we call "Drop Codes". - Then the magic is that we provide a special add on that they can use on OBS, Streamlabs OBS or XSplit (these are broadcast tools). - When they add the add-on our software takes care of the rest. - Viewers see a banner that shows the drop codes at random times during their live stream. - Viewers go to https://get.incent.com and are able to enter that code and redeem is instantly for some $$ value of the Incent crypto-currency that is currently traded on exchanges globally. - The streamer is able to instantly reward their audience! - The streamer gets real time stats about who is redeeming and earning rewards on their live stream and as a result their engagement in the live stream is buzzing. - This isn't a new streaming platform. Instead its a service for streamers and viewers to help make the streaming ecosystem more vibrant. - Ingage works on any streaming platform: Twitch, Mixer, DLive, Facebook Live!

It's currently live and working on some awesome streams at the moment.

We have several new features coming down the pipeline too like donations, verification badges, more display overlays, dark mode and most importantly are currently working to make it possible for streamer to earn an income from using Incent completely free.

I would love to get your feedback about it. If you are a streamer, test it out! It's completely free!

ko3us··on Show HN: Reward your live-stream audience instantly for free
Hey everyone OP here and co-founder.

We created Incent as a way to help people build wealth by creating a global rewards currency and platform.

Earlier this year we launched rewards for shopping - pretty standard and status quo. While this is simple and gaining traction in Australia (our first launch location), we found through our users an area that people have been wanting rewards - live stream video.

So I'm excited today to launch the first beta of that product called Incent Ingage.

It allows streamers to instantly reward their audience in real time while their audience watches their content. The viewer gets a small dollar amount of reward for their engagement.

The rewards are "dropped" at random times throughout a streamer's live-stream broadcast.

The value proposition is simple: - As a viewer I'm getting rewarded in real time for watching streamers that I enjoy.

- As a streamer, I'm able to reward my audience to say thanks and to give them something that is different to other streams and you get better analytics compared to Twitch, Youtube, FB Live etc about your audience, which helps you tailor your content.

For the streamer its super simple to set up. Once you create an account, a streamer can create and plan campaigns. You can set the number of rewards you want to give, set the start and end dates and thats it, youre good to go.

We provide a unique link that streamers can add to their OBS based streaming software which handles all the rewarding, notifications and updates in real time.

Keen to hear your thoughts. Please pass this onto any streamer who is keen.

ko3us··on Gitlab More Than Doubles Valuation to $2.75B Ahead of Planned 2020 IPO
We’ve been using Gitlab for 4 years now.

What got us initially was the free private repos before github had that.

We are now a paying customer.

Their integrated CICD is amazing. It works perfectly for all our needs and integrates really easily with AWS and GCP.

Also their customer service is really damn good. If I ever have an issue, it’s dealt with so fast and with so much detail. Honestly one of the best customer service I’ve experienced.

Their product is feature rich, priced right and is easy.

I’m amazed at how the operate. Kudos to the team

ko3us··on Show HN: Lunch Money, a personal budgeting tool with multi-currency support
Nice work! Looks great and easy to use. What do you use to get transaction history?
ko3us··on Static web – back to the roots?
I agree. From my perspective, I try to make the most secure website but have to know that the end user will be our marketing team. I've tried both static only and WordPress. Both are good for each side. BUT what I've found to be the best compromise is Webflow. Honestly; it's such a great tool. It produces website in as pure HTML as possible (you can export the Webflow site as pure HTML/CSS/JS. Or have Webflow host it on their S3 and Cloudfront setup with AWS. The best part is that the CMS editor is really good and easy for the non techy. The designer tool is great for non tech too. It's simple. But at the same time has the functionality to be flexible for tech developers. Now it's not perfect. But I think it is the actual real balance between both.

ko3us··on Get crypto currency for watching eSports
OP here. I wanted to share this because I truly believe that this is the first step towards real world mass Market adoption of crypto currency. Look I know it's not perfect, but it's definitely in the right direction. Making it easy for the everyday person to have a piece of the crypto currency game in the easiest way possible is a positive step forward. I also believe it showcases a pragmatic way to use crypto currency. Thoughts?
ko3us··on Show HN: I made Incent – a real use for crypto and blockchain
Good question.

So right now the marketplace is a “cash back” site.

But the biggest difference is that with cash back it’s not instant.

With crypto, we are able to instantly reward you for a purchase online.

We also have just released our bank integration piece that allows users to link their card, similar to Acorns etc, and when a transaction occurs we immediately reward it using Incent crypto.

The benefits for the user are: - it’s real value - you can send it to anyone - there are no expiry dates - you can exchange it for cash or soon for gift cards and a debit card - you can donate it

For the merchant, there is no liability in the future. They pay to buy the crypto, then send it to a user and the user can use it back on the store, which essentially means they are giving it back to the store.

ko3us··on Show HN: I made Incent – a real use for crypto and blockchain
I’ve been working on Incent for the past two years. It’s what I believe to be a proper real world application of crypto and blockchain tech for the mass population.

It is a global reward platform that allows people to earn cryptocurrency as a reward for purchases, browsing online, viewing video.

My goal is to be able to incentivise any activity. The idea is that I want to be the Stripe for rewards and loyalty.

I’d love your feedback.

ko3us··on Show HN: Mysafe – Your digital identity, with true privacy and security.
Hi HN, one of the founders here. We created mysafe as a way to help users take control of their online lives. We started mysafe 2 years ago and has been in development and now used by some small groups. The key concepts are: - you control ALL the privacy of your data - your data is encrypted completely - data is owned by you, not anyone else

We would love to go through the technical way it works because it's imperative that the everyday person understands the privacy benefits of using mysafe.

In light of the recent Cambridge Analytica Facebool scandal, mysafe is the answer to manage your digital identity.

ko3us··on The case against blockchain for identity
This is an interesting article because it outlines the flaws in blockchain, especially the payload.

There are heaps of blockchain companies claiming to use blockchain to store large amounts of data. However, the ability to scale and store that seems disproportionate.

Maybe something like IPFS + a blockchain could be used, but the immutability is lost the moment its stored on a file store. The blockchain just acts as a pointer.

ko3us··on Medium now charges $75 for custom domain
Such a shame that a high cost is charged for custom domain handling. Such a huge price increase. Originally for free. Yes that wasn't sustainable. But $75?? You can buy a domain for $5pa Free SSL using LetsEncrypt.

I get Medium are looking for a revenue model, but this is ridiculous.

Why not provide enterprise blogging or something they can charge enterprise for. Take on the Wordpress kingdom and get into big business.
