knowThySelfx··on Climate Engineers Sucking Carbon Dioxide from the Atmosphere
Do they have plans to remove Methane and NOx. Methane emissions have increased and we are seeing weather changes. One shouldn't forget CO2 is also needed in the atmosphere.

Remnants of Pagan civilisations is being destroyed by this. There could be some agenda over this.

Cheers, thanks.

Thanks Steve.

>It's not always possible, but on systems where it is, there's some ability to do so, see https://github.com/japaric/steed

Doesn't linking to it make a Rust program "unsafe", in the Rust sense? Or my understanding is probably not correct.

It did affect our Cryogenic initiatives. Nambi Narayanan was the main brain behind it. It was a setback from scientific point of view for ISRO.

Looking at the wiki, it seems likely that outside forces might've been involved in the scandal.

Rust's documentation is very well written. The authors have put in great effort to make things clear.

Granted Rust has some paradigms and constructs which are not easy to learn, I found it rather exciting. I think it has future scope.

Wonder whats happening with Redox. I hope Rust adds more libraries, especially network related, since the networked world is increasingly looking like a distributed OS of sort. Browsers are looking like an OS or a shell inside the OS. Browsers are getting more complex with more functionalities added every few months. Not sure I expressed my thoughts correctly, but I guess one can understand what I mean.

Rust should move away from C standard library, if possible.

India's Thorium rich sands are being mined and exported. Not many people are aware though. Hope it isn't too late. Scandals have throttled many efforts to grow indigenous techs. The ridiculous ISRO spy case is one such example. Cui bono?
knowThySelfx··on Coconut oil isn't healthy and it's never been healthy
Yup. I wonder which one gives a better result: AHA taking a 10 person sample or millions of people over generations?

Sedentary life style has more to contribute than oils I think. Our lifestyle has changed dramatically over 50 years.

About 30 years ago people of Kerala almost exclusively used coconut oil. Then came advertisements and "studies" claiming coconut oil is bad and promoted other oils like sunflower etc. Since then heart disease has increased. This is general observation.

knowThySelfx··on Coconut oil isn't healthy and it's never been healthy
We've been happily using coconut oil for centuries. Its the staple. Let those who disagree use their "refined" canola oil ;). Check out which oils are good for high heat cooking.

knowThySelfx··on Opinionated Comparison of React, Angular2, and Aurelia
:) Wasn't aware of that. Haven't tried React. Maybe because I am a bit impatient.
knowThySelfx··on Opinionated Comparison of React, Angular2, and Aurelia
Been using Vuejs for a couple of months now. Just love it's simplicity and flexibility. Tried Angular 2 earlier. It was ok. But they've lost it with their new release cycle. I guess people will hesitate to use it.

Needed a routing solution where we had to load list-> multiple details(multiple tabs from a list of items; loaded using ajax/websockets) not single detail view. Not sure either Angular or Vue's router could do it. So we ended up implementing a custom one.

knowThySelfx··on 2016 JavaScript Rising Stars
Exactly. I could easily get into Vue. But not to React. Perhaps its my plain js affinity speaking.
knowThySelfx··on Show HN: Rust, ARM Cortex M, and a Generated HAL
Certainly not easy. And you could forget the concepts if you don't continue with it. But the documentation is great. They've explained everything clearly. If you follow it one by one, it actually gives you a "masochistic" pleasure of learning it ;)
knowThySelfx··on Scientists caught off-guard by record temperatures linked to climate change
CO2 is the only culprit?

This one says Ozone layer is recovering: http://research.noaa.gov/News/NewsArchive/LatestNews/TabId/6...

This one says increased CO2 has helped the speedy recovery of Ozone: http://classroom.synonym.com/co2-deplete-ozone-layer-4828.ht...

I understand the topic is climate change. Probably there are other factors contributing to it. Its been said Methane and NOx are more potent. Is there an increase in those emissions? We are only looking at CO2 it seems.

knowThySelfx··on Google Cuts Its Giant Electricity Bill with DeepMind-Powered AI
At some point will AI start to have questions like "Who am I? Who made me? Whats the purpose of my existence?" etc. We will have atheist AI's and theist/deist AI's and what not. I guess it will be time for some AI philosophy.

Makes me wonder if there's a creator, will He/She be amused by our attempts at answering "Who am I" and such questions. Will be fun :D
