knd775··on Verizon to Sell Tumblr to Automattic
I'm curious why you would choose to maintain Verizon's policy changes that alienated the majority of the user-base.
knd775··on NULL license plate not such a bright idea
That makes perfect sense, and seems like those most likely explanation. Thanks.
knd775··on NULL license plate not such a bright idea
Wouldn't their license plate be in quotes, though? 'NULL' != NULL
knd775··on NULL license plate not such a bright idea
There was a time where call of duty ghosts was exploitable, and people could wipe/delete the accounts of anyone whose username/gamertag they knew. Streamers and pro players had to use barcode usernames to avoid getting their accounts deleted.
knd775··on Big Pharma is using faux generics to keep drug prices high, critics say
Selling a vaccine for a disease to virtually every person alive can make more money than selling drugs to treat a disease to the few people that actually get that disease.

I'm not sure how that would work. Apple isn't just sitting on exploits.

knd775··on Chrome hides www and https:// in the address bar again
Subdomains in general still show, just not www. Also, in the case you mentioned, the subdomains are the same. The path still shows.
knd775··on SpaceX Smallsat Rideshare Program
They launched tintin A and B on SSO-A. They maneuvered to the correct orbits.
knd775··on SpaceX Smallsat Rideshare Program
Starlink sats can maneuver to different orbits. Their original test sats launched on an SSO launch.
knd775··on SpaceX Smallsat Rideshare Program
This seems likely. If customers drop out, they can just toss in a couple starlink sats.
knd775··on Syslog: Complete System Administrator Guide
I think it's because they aren't really supposed to be human readable. It's trivial for an application to do (PRI % 8) to get the severity, and ((PRI - severity) / 8) to get the facility number. I'd assume that's why severity only goes to 7.

I'm not exactly happy about mass LPR, either.

Oops, they actually just went into a tunnel and it couldn't get a GPS lock.

knd775··on Norweigan oil fund
No, this is what Brazil should've done decades ago but could not due to corruption and short-sightedness. Nowadays, the only model that they are trying to replicate is that of authoritarian regimes.
knd775··on California Police Are Sharing Facial Recognition Databases to ID Suspects
Great! So now the police can go through my personal information because I happen to look slightly like a criminal from a certain angle.
knd775··on California Police Are Sharing Facial Recognition Databases to ID Suspects
Basic facial structure (the kind that can be captured from CCTV) is an order of magnitudes less unique than fingerprint data.

From what I've read, that was an fairly accurate (but dramatized) portrayal of him. He had a crazy life.
knd775··on Google unlocks 33% of publisher paywalls on July 30
They've been using soft paywalls which allow people to read a certain number of articles per month for free. To prevent users from simply using incognito mode to pretend every visit is their first visit, publishers started detecting incognito mode and blocking them from reading articles using it (without signing in).

knd775··on Apple expected to adopt keyboard with scissor mechanism for 16-inch MacBook Pro
Have you seen actual mx switches? I've got a handful on my desk here. Including the stems, they are ticker than my entire laptop by themselves. They just came out with "low-profile" switches, but they're still hardly thin at all. I really doubt many people would buy a laptop at least 3x the thickness of the current models.

(By the way, Cherry makes scratchy and cheap feeling switches. The low profile ones are even worse.)

They generally receive updates until there is a reason why they can't.

IPv6 is weird for someone coming from IPv4. Basically every IPv6 address is a public IP address. Your firewall is responsible for blocking inbound traffic from actually getting to the devices at these addresses. This replaces NAT. So, what I do is have a default rule that blocks all IPv6 traffic inbound. Then, instead of a NAT rule, port forwarding, etc., I just allow inbound traffic on certain ports to certain addresses.
knd775··on Mozilla debuts implementation of WebThings Gateway open-source router firmware
It's definitely possible to use both at the same time. But, there's no reason to.
