kjgkjhfkjf··on Electric scooter companies will require permits in San Francisco
Carelessly placed scooters are a mild irritation, around the same level of annoyance as over-enthusiastic tree-planting requiring me to duck and weave almost constantly as I walk along the sidewalk.

But the real problem that needs to be addressed is the idiots riding the scooters on the sidewalk, expecting pedestrians to dive out of their way.

kjgkjhfkjf··on Cloud Identity
Eric Sachs no longer runs identity at Google. You have your explanation why right here.
kjgkjhfkjf··on Fixing impostor syndrome in coding interviews
Regardless of whether you consider yourself an imposter, do ask clarifying questions! They are generally expected from candidates. If you're not asking them, you're probably hurting your chances.

Source: I interview lots of candidates for SWE positions.

kjgkjhfkjf··on A Washington state bill that would make it easier to fix your electronics
This would hurt consumers. Closed hardware has advantages (as well as disadvantages), and consumers should not be forced to forgo these. If you want to change your own battery, you are free to buy a phone from a manufacturer other than Apple.
kjgkjhfkjf··on Artist Nan Goldin takes on the billionaire family behind OxyContin
I don't think it is appropriate to blame doctors in the US for this. She was initially prescribed the drug in Berlin. The article mentions that she was in a high-risk group that should not be prescribed the drug, but it is likely that the European doctor was legitimately unaware of that.

"When, back in New York, doctors refused to supply her any more, she turned to the black market, and to cheaper hard street drugs whenever she ran out of money."

I think this person should take responsibility for her own mistakes, rather than trying to blame them on other people.

kjgkjhfkjf··on Stanford CS9: Problem-Solving for the CS Technical Interview
Two more of my favorite interview questions rendered useless :C
kjgkjhfkjf··on Teenagers now better behaved and less hedonistic but lonelier and more isolated
Alternatively, perhaps the trend is that teenagers nowadays tend to lie less when they're asked about how much sex they have.
