And yet it lets you customize and tweak things to get it "just how you want." Sounds like a dream and a nightmare in one for OCPD people like moi.

The first time it was a little odd, but it's routine for those companies who have sensitive IP.
If that’s true, well, I guess I am not in the top 30% of employees of big tech firms.
I run a two-person development company that contracts for tech companies.
Out of the five projects we had in February, two have been canceled, two have been put on hold indefinitely, and the remaining contract project is only part-time.
Yes, I'm negligent about sales and marketing. I am the epitome of the "technician" (in "E-Myth" parlance). I don't expect things to dramatically turn around very soon.
Zipkin (https://github.com/openzipkin) and OpenTracing (https://github.com/opentracing) purport to be vendor/platform agnostic tracing frameworks and have support with various servers/systems/etc.
X-Ray was pretty trivial to use in AWS land w/ Java as a client.
That aside, as an introvert, but even as a beardless one, I have nothing but admiration for such efforts to remove human interaction! (Still only half joking.)
High home prices mean I can't move my family without incurring a substantial jump in property taxes (even if it's to downsize once the kids move out).
I'd also like my kids to have the option to live here without too much financial difficulty.
Thanks for the work that went into this!
FTEs are available in perpetuity (theoretically), contractors can be flighty
Manageability of FTEs is assumed, while freelancers often multiplex
Overall lower cost
IP/knowledge remains in-house with FTEs (talent acquisitions show this is a big deal)
Of course, there are some bad reasons too (trust issues, etc.).
Bookmarked.
Thanks!
