Not sure what you're getting at, but here are the facts:

1) Background: Israel legitimately blockades Gaza due to acts of war by the local government (also known as the terrorist organization Hamas).

2) The Gaza flotilla was an attempt to breach the blockade by intruding into the zone controlled by Israeli naval forces in the area.

3) The Israeli forces intercepted the flotilla and boarded it; no weapons were used until provoked.

4) Immediately after boarding it, they were physically assaulted and returned fire: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaiMjAULWn0

So there are some persons and organizations who believe that Gaza is occupied. Sorry, but that doesn't make it true in my view.

"The bombs were timed to detonate several hours after closing time."

I believe that is called subversion, not terrorism. Terrorism generally involves an attempt to murder innocents.

It's when you see pictures of Israelis being lynched with nothing more than bare hands of Palestinian crowd: https://goo.gl/hmKwJi

... you know that there can be no peace. Peace is made with people, not with governments. And Palestinians are overwhelmingly against peace with Israel on any terms other than submission.

Do you truly believe that Israel carpet bombs Gaza, or is it just a figure of speech (to make an impression on a reader who doesn't know better)?

This is carpet bombing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phzRY0DdRXk

This is a typical Israeli strike: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAT1uBNcOHU

And while we're at it, this is indiscriminate bombing of an Israeli town of Sderot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRz3nHwgjHY

kirillkh··on Show HN: Kitty – A modern, hackable, featureful, OpenGL based terminal emulator
Re WSL in Cmder/ConEmu: it's not so simple as that. In fact, it's a terrible mess. If you try to use the straightforward bash.exe, you will quickly run into things that are unsupported, e.g. arrow keys (fixed in Insider builds), home/end keys (fixed in Insider builds) Ctrl+Space (not fixed). If you try to use MinGW/Cygwin and ssh from there, you may run into random crashes when launching programs after using it for some time, such as less or emacs (old bug in MinGW and Cygwin). There is also something called "wslbridge", which also failed for me, but I can't remember why.

In the end, the only thing that does everything I want reliably is embedding a special build of mintty into ConEmu/Cmder. https://github.com/mintty/wsltty

Here is the ConEmu task that I use: %LOCALAPPDATA%\wsltty\bin\mintty.exe --wsl -o Locale=C -o Charset=UTF-8 /bin/wslbridge -t /bin/bash -l

It does have the caveat that you can't use many ConEmu's keyboard shortcuts, but there is a workaround that allows you to pass WinKey+Key shortcuts through, and I'm learning to live with that.

kirillkh··on Falsehoods programmers believe about video
2. There exists a "Falsehoods Programmers Believe" list that is entirely true.
kirillkh··on AMD releases Radeon Crimson 16.12.1 with a dozen of new features
I don't think that's related in any way other than it's also about the video card driver.
kirillkh··on MUI – Lightweight CSS framework that follows Google’s Material Design guidelines
Is there a terse bird's-eye view explanation what Material Design is from a programmer's perspective? I tried approaching Google's documentation more than once, but, invariably, got completely overwhelmed every time.

> These elections in Russia that we analysed using this method were fraudulent - as proved by the method.

Not "as proved by the method", but "as proved by the science of statistics". So let me fix it for you:

a) This method can identify fraudulent elections, because it's scientifically correct.

b) These elections in Russia that we analysed using this method were fraudulent - as proved by the science of statistics.

FYI, the paper was published in "Annals of Applied Statistics", which is a peer-reviewed journal.

kirillkh··on Mentoring in Gaza's first hackathon
Writing as an Israeli.

There is no inequality inherent in the system. The fact that Palestinian nationals (who are not Israeli citizens) are mostly employed in cheap jobs is no different from Filipinos or Chinese being employed in cheap jobs abroad. Israeli Arabs have the same rights as Jews, in everything from education to employment. They even get preferential acceptance to universities (lower acceptance requirements).

Claiming there is an apartheid in Israel is simply FUD.

kirillkh··on Weep for Graphics Programming
When writing my first OpenGL code, I was stunned by the amount of boilerplate required. It is so bad it reminds me of COBOL. No one in their right mind would tolerate that monstrosity in a normal CPU program (except, possibly, some hardcore C++ fans).

I think in order to solve this, we need three things: 1) Intermediate representation for compiled GPU code. Bytecode mentioned in the article sounds like it. 2) Cross-platform GPU programming support in our programming languages' standard libraries. 3) Compiler plugins and DSLs that output the IR and link to the library.
