For example, one of my favourites is Battleship Island, an abandoned Japanese island which is being slowly taken back by nature.

A simple way to discover interesting satellite imagery.
I'm seeing my own costs, for a site which I run on my own, rise from $1,500 / month to around $30,000 / month.
Their rationale is essentially that they did not want commercial users abusing their free tier. Before this change, they had been reaching out to such entities individually, offering their 'premium plan' service.
The pricing for the (old) premium plan was remarkably similar to the new pricing which now applies to everyone.
This pricing change has ended the era of Google Maps mashups / hobby projects.
They attempted to shoehorn me onto the premium plan but many aspects of it are geared toward larger entities - very steep initial cost (per map load) with discounts for huge volumes.

If anyone wants the locations of others I can probably find them.
The curator of this site is, I think, scouring several other websites which collect and display interesting Street Views, picking out those which are exceptional, then posting them on his own site without the location data or a source. Probably in the name of 'art'.
I know this because many of the images on 9-eyes were originally displayed on my own site, so I know where most of them are.

When you see stop(0) it might still be searching for a Street View, especially if you're using the map.
Thanks again.
My site wasn't the first, http://www.globegenie.com was. I liked the concept and built an improved version.
My only point was that if you are going to take an existing idea, build something better.
