It does matter if people aboard, there are more rules and procedures. You need a vessel with safeties that can allow them to eject safely if there's an anomaly.

Of course it's more challenging.

And it does matter if there's more fuel, you have to have valves and pipes that won't freeze after lengthy contact with cryogenic fuel. And you need larger pressure vessels, which scale in volume differently from surface area. It's not at all the same whether you move one ton or a hundred.

I'm arguing that we have the SLS today and we don't have another compatible option. Is SLS the best outcome? Of course not, if we had a time machine would we go do it differently, of course.

But it's sitting on the pad today and nothing else is.

Really? We've loaded that much cryogenic fuel before on a manned mission?

Pretty sure it's untried. Theoretically easy, just like launching starship is theoretically easy.

The Artemis 3 will launch on SLS and land humans on the moon?

Not to and from the moon. It has a Delta v budget a little low for a full round trip that includes a landing and ascent, iirc. It could hurl something at the moon though.

That said, it seems unlikely that a vehicle will go from "has never reached orbit and has a novel refueling model" to "is rated for human spaceflight" in a year or two. I think the Starship is cool as hell, but realistically we're probably looking at 2027+ before we see substantial missions on it.

What's a more practical system that matches its capabilities and flight readiness?

No one claimed the first Artemis mission would. The parent claimed "nothing the SLS will ever do"

The SLS will (most likely) put people on the moon as part of a later Artemis mission.

This is not salient, it's like saying "when I removed pressure from the wound, the patient started bleeding out. Therefore removing pressure is bad and to fix the wound we should ask Re apply pressure" The pressure is a stopgap, you need to address the underlying problem (in this case by ensuring adequate bathrooms) rather than simply reacting to the surface level concern.

A whole bunch of innovative games? Skate 4, It Takes Two, Star Wars Squadrons, Jedi Fallen Order, Apex Legends, A Way Out, Fe, and arguably battlefield 5.

Yes, plenty of annual sports games, though even those evolve over time with different career modes and gameplay. But EA is still making moves in the space.

The largest agricultural crop in the US by acre is lawn. It's not just the lawns, it's the sod fields, it's the grass seed fields, it's all the support those things need.

Lawns are incredibly wasteful, much much moreso than pools or other uses. Yes, urban water use is small compared to agricultural use, but lawns in the desert really are inexcusable.

This is the same thing as economic sanctions - it targets indiscriminately and it targets the wrong use case, but proponents will say it encourages people to press against the real problem and demand change.

Just like, say, random Cuban citizens do nothing to meaningfully harm the US, random houses in urban California aren't where water waste is worst. The real problem is agriculture and water rights that disappear if unused, encouraging farmers to pour water in a ditch so they don't lose their rights.

If you believe broad based economic sanctions work, you should believe this works under the same principles - the citizens will be so annoyed they have to deal with this they'll get the government to change.

If you don't believe this will work, then one must assume you believe broad sanctions wouldn't work either.

It's not stretching the narrative at all, this is exactly how the executives think at Amazon. Everything must be connected and used to showcase the other parts of the business.

Amazon owning EA will absolutely stifle innovation, especially given their history in the gaming space.

Musk is absolutely the reason I would never consider buying another Tesla, having just sold mine.

Dude just straight up lies. He may not realize he's lying, but he lies constantly.

Edit, because I'm getting downvoted. Here's some examples: self driving, battery swaps, robotic snake chargers, cybertruck windows, Bitcoin won't be converted to fiat, starlink speeds will improve, he will sell his home, first mars mission 2024, Tesla solar roofs, power packs at every supercharger, brake pads on Tesla cars will never need to be replaced, the gigafactory will be 100% renewable powered by 2020, fixing the Flint water crisis, making bricks from boring company waste, founding a media credibility organization, and probably a TON more.

Oh man, I forgot he took money to fly tourists to the moon.

There are so many lies he's told. So many.
