Is there any value in listening to a man who is consistently wrong? Did he get something profoundly correct that I just never learned of?
I have no deep admiration for judges, but the motivation for this seems deeply ideological, and I don't see a bright future where judges are arrested by the Gestapo based on ideological differences.
Without some heavy sourcing, I am incredibly hesitant to believe this.
This rings so true to me. The tech side seems hyperfocused in on these diminishing return results around benchmarks, but I just don't see a 4% improvement in X benchmark as any kind of market mover.
No normie in my life ever talks of using Gemini or Llama in their day to day life. Maybe some turbo twitter addict boomies talk about using grok, but that's about it.
Regular people are leveraging chatGPT to pick up the slack that google search enshittification left in their lives. It's a Skype to Zoom shift and lots of people here seem to not really appreciate it. They are too caught up on esoteric benchmark scores to recognize the tectonic plates moving beneath them.
At this point in college, LLMs are everywhere. It's completely dominating history/english/mass comm fields with respect to writing papers.
Anecdotally all of my working non-tech friends use chatgpt daily.
It's a good thing that natural rights are a real thing and not just something you enjoy ranting into your computer about.
Again, try screaming racial slurs on daytime television. You will be met with a fine and/or imprisonment.
I am not a lawyer. I am not a member of congress. I did not write the law. I don't particularly like or agree with those laws. But they exist, and unless I'm mistaken it seems like you're unwilling to acknowledge their existence.
This is not true.
Under 18 U.S.C. Section 1464, “[w]hoever utters any obscene, indecent, or profane language by means of radio communication shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.” Under 18 U.S.C. Section 1468(a), “[w]hoever knowingly utters any obscene language or distributes any obscene matter by means of cable television or subscription services on television, shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than 2 years or by a fine in accordance with this title, or both.” Likewise, under 47 U.S.C. Section 559, “[w]hoever transmits over any cable system any matter which is obscene or otherwise unprotected by the Constitution of the United States shall be fined under Title 18 or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.”
You can wax poetically all you want about endowment by the creator, but try saying racial slurs on daytime TV and see how long that lasts.
Advertisement is just another form of speech that can be limited.
Would love to see a source for this claim.
My grasp of English isn't without flaws, but that seems to be a pretty direct lie unless he was also a former student at Lambda School.
Personally, I see no issue with increased accountability on both of these fronts. If you sign up to be the person who gets to decide whether other humans are put in a concrete box for years at a time, you should be willing to face the highest levels of scrutiny for your decision making. And if you are wrong there should be harsh punishments for your failures.
How you got that somehow they are comparing Linux to IQ is above me; perhaps I am just too low IQ to understand.
You must have missed the part of the post where they stated:
>I worked at $retailer for a time, and even their statements were to "DO NOT ENGAGE SHOPLIFTERS".
"People like [them]" are being told from their employers to not engage shoplifters.
