kbanman··on Laravel : A New PHP Framework
It will slow down shortly, I expect.

Taylor has only recently started working full-time on the framework and as a result has been able to "fill out" the framework with community-requested features at a quick pace. It's just a matter of time before it tapers off; there's no point in stagnating the development of such a young and novel framework for what IMO are silly reasons.

What naming conventions specifically don't you like?

It takes full advantage of recent advancements in PHP to facilitate more functional programming.

Laravel makes extensive use of namespaces.

The omission of namepaces in the case of controllers was a calculated decision. PHP's implementation of namespaces is... inadequate, and would have required annoying workarounds, so prefixing controllers was the better evil.

kbanman··on Web Standards
I support this methodology. Have the globally-namespaced attribute already function, but give the vendor-specific one precedence. That way the developer only has to add vendor-specific declarations for the minority that implements it differently.

Seriously? This is a privacy concern? I really should get into the tin foil hat business.
kbanman··on Apple kicks hacker out of iOS dev program for exploiting security flaw
Apple is completely justified in booting him out of the developer program. He posted this trojan to the app store disguised as a stock checker, which could have been downloaded by unsuspecting users. His benevolence doesn't excuse him from such blatant disregard for the rules of the developer program.
kbanman··on Introducing the Gmail app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch
Thing is, this app isn't just unpolished. They threw up this excuse for a native app to avoid engineering a real one.
kbanman··on Jwz: Google's pseudonym support "obvious bullshit"
How did this post get so popular? Google isn't doing any of this behind your back. If you don't want to share your identity with Google, don't use their services. Simple as that.

It is no secret that Google is a corporation. The only thing that matters to a corporation is to make money. Google doesn't spend millions on improving their search engine and developing a fantastic social networking service because of some altruistic motive. Don't be so naive as to expect companies like Google and Facebook to adhere to your idealistic views of privacy and anonymity if that means a reduction in profit.

Direct your energy to keeping the internet free. As long as we have that, we can represent ourselves however we like by being able to choose which services we use.
