Could you link the issues please? Planning to use Gitea with a lot of mirrored repos.
kasbah··on Show HN: Medusa – Open-source alternative to Shopify
I'm wondering if this could be used for building a crowd-funding platform or if there are headless solutions someone might recommend for that.
kasbah··on Tomu – An ARM microprocessor which fits in your USB port
Shameless plug but you can try and build a Tomu yourself with help of the Kitspace page.

kasbah··on Ask HN: Freelancer? Seeking freelancer? (September 2021)
SEEKING FREELANCER | Remote (UTC+1)

We are building a search engine for open source hardware. Seeking two software engineers with experience in building search engines for a 3 month full-time contract (4500 Euro a month). Interest in hardware (electronic engineering, mechanical engineering) and enthusiasm for open source a plus.

kasbah··on Ask HN: What Apple alternatives are you switching to?
Put GrapheneOS on that Pixel. I run it on a 3a. It's pretty easy to install and updates itself very regularly, can recommend.

I recommend the Consent-O-Matic browser extension and failing that, the "I don't care about cookies" browser extension.

Not the OP but we can't enable our self-hosted runner on our open source project because if we do then the pipeline won't run on external merge requests. It simply fails with permission errors when we get merge requests. So we have to use the shared runners which are less powerful.

Mine are fd [0] to replace `find` and tldr [1] to replace `man`.

kasbah··on Show HN: Milkldown – Plugin Based Wysiwyg Open Source Markdown Editor
Not sure what you mean by that, but yes, would be interested in an example.

More generally, what inspired you to make this, what did you feel is missing from prosemirror-markdown? What does this do differently or better?

kasbah··on Show HN: Milkldown – Plugin Based Wysiwyg Open Source Markdown Editor
Looks really nice. As someone who just found out about Milkdown and Prosemirror through this post could you clarify what this adds over prosemirror-markdown? Would it be hard to be able to do the "switch to markdown" thing they do in this example? https://prosemirror.net/examples/markdown/

I'm thinking about using something like this but would require a custom markdown extension. Would that be easier with Milkdown because it uses markdown-it?

kasbah··on Show HN: My 3D Printer Robots
Neat! If there were robots with specific models of 3d-printers (e.g. Prusa i3 mk3) I might be tempted. That could make a nice gift for my 3d-printing-nerd friends that swear by a particular model.
kasbah··on Siemens acquires Supplyframe, owners of Hackaday and Tindie
Not a direct competitor but https://kitspace.org is our take on electronics project sharing. Feel free to get in touch if you are interested in taking part.
kasbah··on OpenFlexure Microscope, an open-source optical microscope
Some more images here: https://gitlab.com/openflexure/gallery-wiki#galleries

And someone used the Openflexure delta stage to make a scanning laser microscope recently (and made an entertaining video about it): https://old.reddit.com/r/microscopy/comments/mvmznq/i_made_a...

kasbah··on OpenFlexure Microscope, an open-source optical microscope
The main value of this is a low-cost precision positioning system that can be 3d-printed. A lot of the challenge of microscopy is getting the sample into the right place. And yes, this design can be motorised and controlled automatically as well.
kasbah··on OpenFlexure Microscope, an open-source optical microscope
That's a fair criticism of the website and one that we had been meaning to address for a while now. We did start collecting pictures over on this Gitlab wiki but most of the pictures out there that are not listed there yet.

kasbah··on Next.js Conference Site Is Multiplayer
That's fun, but what can I expect from the conference? What are the talks (and will they be recorded to view later)?

kasbah··on From Idea to Printed Circuit Board in One Week
Maybe SnapEDA and their new KiCad plugin [1] would be a good fit for you? I've not used the plugin myself but I do use SnapEDA footprints myself occasionally. I also try and keep on top of all the footprints available on GitHub and add them to our repo [2], you can add this globally and search through it from within KiCad.

kasbah··on Ask HN: What are you working on?
A platform for sharing electronics projects with a focus on replication (actually building the projects).

kasbah··on Show HN: A DIY particle detector kit developed at CERN
The same PCB can be used to build an alpha spectrometer. This variant is a little harder to use correctly which is why we are not selling it as a kit yet. You can however use the links in the page to buy most of the required components from 3rd parties.

kasbah··on Show HN: A DIY particle detector kit developed at CERN
Hey HN, this is a particle detector developer by my friend Oliver Keller for his PhD at CERN. I've put together some kits so you can more easily build one yourself.
