karanbhangui··on Ask HN: API to run Python code, what can go wrong?
You want to use some sort of sandbox or VM for this. Firecracker might fit your usecase: https://firecracker-microvm.github.io/

karanbhangui··on Show HN: Bulk convert images online without sending to server
Fair enough, thanks for the gentle reminders to maintain decorum. Will do!
karanbhangui··on Session-lived Application Backends
Very cool, excited to see this launch! Similar ethos to ink&switch[0] local-first apps, but taken to their logical conclusion

HN feedback has become cancer. OP, this site is great, and even as a highly technical user, I'd use this site in a heart beat. Thank you!
karanbhangui··on Google requiring all ‘G Suite legacy free edition’ users to start paying
I’m on them now, but run into send/receive limits fast and gets expensive. Only really useful for rarely used accounts, not regular use email

karanbhangui··on Show HN: Tact – A simple chat app for iOS, iPadOS and macOS
Disagree. Pixelmator is awesome, huge cottage industry of niche MacOS app and marketshare of Windows+Linux much bigger for the “less fortunate” to choose from.

Might be tricker for a chat app tho…

karanbhangui··on Show HN: Tact – A simple chat app for iOS, iPadOS and macOS
Cool! I was hoping group chat would be a link I could share here like direct message. Alas it’s not! Group messaging is an underserved need in Whatsapp etc., could be a good place to focus and reducing friction to onramp
karanbhangui··on Show HN: Lisp with GC in 436 Bytes
Clojure is fairly popular on the JVM and the site you are on uses a lisp dialect named Arc.

Though not popular as an industrial language, ideas from lisp have spread into javascript and front end dev

karanbhangui··on Ideas are just a multiplier of execution (2005)
I don't see how the conclusion is correct based on the premise: "That’s why I don’t want to hear people’s ideas. I’m not interested until I see their execution."

As per the premise, wouldn't you want to quickly vet out the idea to see if it's > 0 or your hurdle rate multiplier? If idea is Awful (-1), no level of execution is going to result in a desirable outcome.

This premise shows exactly why idea vetting is important.

karanbhangui··on The truth about turbinates (and sinusitis)
Also hepa air purifier, vacuuming/avoding carpets, and replacing and continuously running HVAC filter/fan has helped.
karanbhangui··on The truth about turbinates (and sinusitis)
Assuming you’re cleared for allergies, it can show that it’s positional. I wouldn't use Afrin on a regular basis, or even more than two days. Try corticosteroid like flonase instead
karanbhangui··on The truth about turbinates (and sinusitis)
It could be non-allergic rhinitis like in my case. USC head of sleep surgery recommended I try the “Afrin test” which is trying Afrin for a night or two (avoid more to prevent rebound effect). Lying down can engorge nasal passages. Try elevating head via pillows or bed elevation. Use humidifier and take large dose vitamin D. Mouth tape and sleep on your side
karanbhangui··on Rowy: Open-source Airtable alternative on Google Cloud
Wonder if Rowy could be modified to use Hasura[0], a realtime grahql front-end to Postgres

karanbhangui··on Rivian S-1
Yes, and also Rivian has production pickup truck and Amazon delivery vans....
karanbhangui··on Show HN: I made a simulator for personal finance and financial independence
Yes this would be a big help. Can always "clear the sandbox" and start fresh once I've poked around with the end result.
karanbhangui··on Ask HN: I don't feel like working at all, what to do?
Have you considered switching to product management? And, if you haven't already, developing some hobbies/active social life outside of work?
karanbhangui··on Ask HN: Why Poetry did not become a mainstream package manager for Python?
Because `python3 -m venv venv && ./venv/bin/pip install * && ./venv/bin/pip freeze > requirements.txt` is good enough.
