jst1fthsdys··on The main way I've seen people turn ideologically crazy (2025)
> Charlie Kirk's killer > the guy who killed the United Healthcare CEO.

Allegedly. Neither have been convicted.

jst1fthsdys··on The main way I've seen people turn ideologically crazy (2025)
That is a rational response to the corruption and inhumanity of the police and jails, though.

Go move to Tokyo then. I'm sure their safe and open society will welcome you.

No there wasn't. Or are you saying that because material reality is now encroaching on your bubble?

They are, even if this particular instance isn't exactly that.
jst1fthsdys··on Israeli spyware vans infiltrate American streets and your phones
So, the US government is buying Israeli spyware to spy on US citizens for when they speak out about Israeli control of the US government.

You overstate the advantages of technology. Mughal India was fragmented and on a sharp decline. The British used politics, finance, and treachery to divide and conquer what was remaining.
jst1fthsdys··on Iran, Not Trump, Is in Control of This War
Do you not understand Iran would destroy ARAMCO, not to mention Israeli desalination and nuke sites? They've been pretty measured in their escalation strategy, they haven't gone to their "nuclear" option yet.

Also, sure the US can kill lots of civilians in Tehran with a nuke. But then what does China think? What about Russia? It starts a huge shit show that will not end well for anyone on this planet.

jst1fthsdys··on China sentences official to death for taking $325M in bribes
There is a strong theme of "Chinese people are drones" when you hear about whatever the west's current propaganda issue is. I'm not sure if the poster was explicitly trying to hint at that, or just repeating derived ideas from those that really think it.

Lots of posts about how the CPC isn't really doing the will of the people, they are just following and the people are too docile or subdued to resist. Chinese people are bad at team sports where an individual contribution can play a big part. They are only good at the ones where they all do the same thing.

It ties in with the western ideology that we are unique, dynamic, flawed but able to push ahead in a way collectives aren't.

I will also posit the downplaying and discrediting of Chinese tech and industry is also related with this mindset.

They were able to bribe those around Maduro and they gave him up. Thats why it went well. Anytime we can bribe our way to victory, it usually works.

When we can't (Iran), well, it starts looking like they have zero clue what they are doing.

jst1fthsdys··on Never talk to the police
> have far more experiences than you.

Rich people have lots of experiences. They do not know what normal life is like.

> How many is "plenty of people" and what percent versus those of us who get results in minutes.

I know entire neighborhoods where people won't even call the police because they either won't do anything anyway or they will harass and find a way to fuck over the person who called. I know how cops treat brown people versus whites. I know how they will treat you if you have money and I know how they will treat you if you don't.

The people who supposedly get results in minutes are the minority.

> I am NOT the outlier. My stories are the stories of my neighbors and everyone I know.

This is a meaningless statement. I can say the exact same thing.

> My stories are from what's in front of me and not random, anonymous internet posts.

You are the random internet post to everyone else but you, mate. Try not to be so solipsistic.

jst1fthsdys··on Never talk to the police
> I lead a normal life. > At my business

You don't know what normal life is in the US.

> they discovered my back door open and, within minutes, caught the person who stole something.

Plenty of people can tell you about the cops never bothering to show up to a call, or showing up hours later and shrugging. The fact that this supposedly happened to you is the outlier.

jst1fthsdys··on War Crimes Seem to Be Official US Policy Now
It was total war though, and they were the aggressors who had slaughtered millions of civilians previously. The Germans and Japanese got what they deserved.

Iran and their people are not the aggressors here. They do not deserve it.

jst1fthsdys··on War Crimes Seem to Be Official US Policy Now
Quick question, who were the aggressors in that war? What had they done previously that might have warranted it?
jst1fthsdys··on War Crimes Seem to Be Official US Policy Now
> The human rights abuses committed by the Islamic Republic regime

What about the human rights abuses by the democratic regime of ISUS? Do we deserve some war crimes too?

Where is this? Because I live in an area with what is considered one of the best public transit systems in the US and even then the bus system is iffy at the edges of the metro area. I am curious to see your bus schedule.
jst1fthsdys··on The Public Should Own Half of the Big A.I. Companies
You seriously can't expect us westerners to listen to the Chinese people about their government. How can we trust them, they are in a police state with the most imprisoned people, have oppressed, immiserated, and genocided minorities for decades, selectively enforce law for the elite, and are initiating wars of aggression across the globe. You can't trust anything coming out of a brutal regime like that.

Err, wait a minute...
