jpmonette··on WebGL Water Simulator
Can't wait to see some more crazy stuff done in WebGL! Working fine on my MBA 2014, but I think it's the first time I heard the fan spinning :)!
jpmonette··on Filezilla at SourceForge is malware
It sounds more like a SourceForge issue than FileZilla. SourceForge used to provide clean binaries, but I guess they changed that process in the past year or two to bundle apps in the installer wrapper. You need to be extremely careful during the installation process to make sure that you do not accidentally install some extra software. The same happen to uTorrent - they also added tricky question during the install process to include advertisement, change default browser and such. That's a sad way to earn money - the end-users will definitely move on because of that.
jpmonette··on Coq: The world’s best macro assembler? (2013) [pdf]
Maybe they should rename it?
jpmonette··on Node.js is forked, not fucked
"The future of javascript looks bright, sunny, and full of callbacks. I’m excited." <-- Great opening
jpmonette··on Rolling your own CDN for $25 in 1 hour
Definitely nice to see a real-world example of how to use Docker.
jpmonette··on X64_dbg: An open-source x64/x86 debugger for Windows
It's really good to see such a lightweight interface, like Ollydbg. I stopped using Ollydbg back then when I had to debug some x64, but didn't find anything free with such a minimalist and powerful UI. I guess you guys made it, good job :)! I wish it was available for Mac too thought - not using Windows anymore.

Bandwith Exceeded, go there instead: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:eB8N3Wm...
jpmonette··on Dragdis – Drag and drop anything anywhere
This thing is simply awesome. I've been looking for an easy way to group things I read / discover online, but actual offering seems to only allow URL saving. The possibility to save parts of a Website (quotes (keeping the source), videos, images or anything draggable) is simply awesome and logical.

Thanks for this wonderful tool, I'll definitely use it in the future.

jpmonette··on BBM Available for Android and iPhone
By reading this, I understand why BlackBerry is still way behind. BBM was cool maybe 6 years ago, so what is breaking about this? Facebook Messenger can do the same as BBM, and a lot more. What's the point of installing this app?
jpmonette··on FBI Admits It Controlled Tor Servers Behind Mass Malware Attack
This is crazy, but really interesting at the same time. I always thought that this was the way to break anonymity on the Tor network.

FBI basically generated a shit-load of Tor nodes (https://blog.torproject.org/blog/how-to-handle-millions-new-...) for some while to increase their chances of intercepting traffic. Following the data collection and using statistic, they were able to pin-point the origin of most Freedom-hosting request/response, and then raided the place.

Think about it: if you own 9/10 of the node of the Tor network (and they did for a while) and simply analyze all the traffic, it's just a matter of time before you can find what you are looking for.

The second interesting thing is how they planned everything using the Firefox exploit to find out who was going on each Website. I'm pretty sure they got what they were looking for.

Even thought this is highly scary in term of government control, I think we can all learn a lot about it. Also, I'm wondering how much this attack cost.
