journeeman··on The Computer Science Handbook: First Draft [pdf]
I like it. It's written by students so it's pretty easy to read. This seems like it could evolve into a students' version of 'Foundations of Computer Science' by Aho, Ullman - http://infolab.stanford.edu/~ullman/focs.html

I know the answer to the following question is probably scattered in the comments below but, to get a concise/precise version of it in one place, I am going to ask it anyway - How does PAPL compare to SICP, HtDP, PLAI & EOPL considering there is quite some commonality amongst them? What does each book offer, what is the intended audience for each book, where do they overlap, which would be a good idea to read first for a novice?

Thanks in advance. :-)

Is there a bug in the game? It keeps saying 'define' isn't a verb it recognizes.
journeeman··on Ask HN: How can I remedy scatter brain and information overload?
Glad I could be of help. :-) Thanks for asking the question.
journeeman··on Ask HN: How can I remedy scatter brain and information overload?
Relax, it's okay. :-) I went through the same thing. I realized that it is neither possible nor important to know a lot of stuff. It is more important and a much more satisfying experience to follow one's own interests and learn what one needs to in the process, as this kind of knowledge stays with you and does not clutter your mind. Knowing stuff is not at all as important as being able to apply logic and ask the right questions in any context.

If possible, try to work on something of interest that will take time, focus and patience to achieve, like a painting or writing poetry or coding something way beyond your current skill level. That would help your mind to calm down and focus. Hope this helps.

Check out this article from Universe Today - http://www.universetoday.com/102234/put-the-aurora-borealis-...

Looks like a VLF receiver could give one a new way to sense natural phenomena like lightning and apparently even some mundane objects.

Wow, that was a fantastic video. I could understand it easily only because they iteratively added complexity to the models. It's amazing how well they have made the tutorial for the layman.

Thanks a lot for sharing.

Since the live stream isn't working, will the recorded videos be uploaded later?

The videos have been very horribly recorded though! Seem to have been recorded by a student.
journeeman··on NASA e-Book Features
Are you sure? I just checked. The link works for me.
journeeman··on Steam Controller
Is that an Xfce panel on the top, in the image? Looks like Steam on Xubuntu.
