Is there an alternative with similar ease of use, i.e. you just pack the files, create a Dockerfile, and push it live?

(For same reasons as other comments, I don't want to use another Google service for this, risk of being locked out, etc.)

I use the same method for years: big single .txt file, with hashtags that are CTRL+F searchable, exactly the same!

Among all the organization/notetaking methods I've tried, this is really the best. No fancy app in the browser, but really effective and fast.

I already visited their website, but I don't see how to do chapters, sections, subsections, etc. Should this be done in LaTeX or in Markdown (using #, ##, etc.) or pandoc specific?

Would you have an example of document with chapters mixing Markdown and LaTex?

The major thing I don't like with this current system is that each time you want to modify an option, the docs always say "Go in Menu XYZ, Submenu ABC, etc. and uncheck this checkbox".

=> At the end, you always have to open the IDE again and again...

Everything is hidden by this IDE, and you end up never knowing where (in which config files) the changes are done.

That is probably the point. A random post about programming from a random guy can be potentially useful for one's own projects in the future. So I can project myself in the project of someone else when reading HN (sorry my english is not good enough to express clearly what I mean).

This is probably less true for music, except if you are really really moved by a song, to the point it could change your life (this can happen a few times per decade or per year but not so often)...

Oh that's interesting, I didn't know that about Firefox sync. How does it work? You connect, once for all (with a login/pwd?) 2 browsers (e.g. phone Firefox and computer Firefox)?

Then you go to send.firefox.com, on phone, and you upload a file. And then how do I get the tab with the right URL on the PC? I guess I open Firefox, and then how can I see "tabs opened on my phone"? (Would you have a screenshot?)

Not really. To do a fair comparison, the three examples that I've listed are things you have to do each time (finding USB cable, or logging in the webmail, or opening Dropbox, etc.)

Here installing the PHP on a server is something you do only once for all.
