Interesting , are you working on this idea? It seems promising to say the least, considering that most companies already benefit from open-source, that is a B2B transaction if they are sponsoring the project. It can be great to have it outside of open source!
This is an interesting model. Similar to how Israel's startup ecosystem is mostly incubated from the IDF Unit 8200, Havatzalot or Mamram. Competition to Ivy Leagues is very welcome at this point. It would be even more interesting for Google itself to have a University considering the amount of certificates and cadre they have.
What is the complexity of building something like Stadia: what technology is required to assemble a competing product, so far the are using open-source tools like Linux and Vulcan?
This sounds great, I would love to talk with you more about this if possible. The technology used at Stadia is streaming using open-source Vulkan graphics and it is Linux based, this gives you a lot of leverage since its open-sourced.
I have been trying to hook a Zoho email to my website. So I would like to understand if I can use this service in the following way: I am running a website at sideproject.com, can i therefore forward all emails from support@sideproject.com to my email? For example on Google you can use Google Suite for enterprise.
Gitcoin has been doing this for a while now, crypto has had success in this model.
There hasn't been a lot of success with fiat platforms like bountysource.
This is a resource of students who have dealt overcoming different obstacles like imposter syndrome, burn-out, finding passion, failed research projects, work overload and covid-19
I've been using Sidekick,it has done a lot for me in terms of substituting extensions like TGS, It has its own tool for tab grouping and sessions, plus adblock. It has been good for productivity
So I think what you could do is join an online accelerator like pioneer.app . Your project is very unique, would be great to offer something similar for Julia notebooks, which currently do not have an official support for that, but has a large community.
Well this escalated so quick, why would Snowden use it when he was running away from the US in these past years. Also Appelbaum used to be a serious hacktivist who was against NSA surveillance but pro-Signal, something is missing for me : why would early adopters like cryptographers, cypherpunks and security engineers advocate for a technology funded by FBI. Signal seems to be a spinoff of Whatsapp(Brian Acton) more than Radio Free Asia, simply because of their medium. To what extent can we use products that are Government Op, for instance the internet was a military government project, as long as we are able to have secure encryption that is transparent, I think that's way better than the Facebook monopoly. The best scenario here is not to use any of them of course.
affordance.app: scaling side-projects into startups with experts. We focus on removing the bottlenecks that impede early stage founders. I would like to talk to other founders here as well!
i remember once peepeth[0] was trending in the ethereum ecosystem. There used to be something called tsu[1] a few years ago, that paid fiat for its users.
Who are the audience of the community, is it engineers at companies, independent developers or founders?
What would be the focus, is it scaling issues, security attacks, technical debt insurance, tools and infra advice?
We are currently building this platform for technical and engineering bottlenecks. Generally each company has a developer relations department to help customers integrate, for example Stripe and Hasura have a Discord, IRC (dev relations as a service). But we are looking at making this more accessible. Wondering how this could best suit what you are looking for, open for suggestions!

RIP: I didn't know DOOM's fanbase crosses platforms in this way. I am thinking of creating a website just for dedicating a poolside.fm like website just for DOOM's music.
Free Space Optical Communication(FSOC) enables projects like Taara[0] from the Alphabet's X. This communication enables great internet infrastructure around Africa, especially coupled with already existing Telecommunication companies Fiber Optics(Project Equiano).

The Spectacle, an idea from the Situationist International, it viewed the collective experience that we have in our society as a Spectacle(a reality simulacrum with images).
"All that once was directly lived has become mere representation. The decline of being into having, and having into merely appearing." Guy Debord
This inspired the Matrix, most recently also demonstrated and inspired Black Mirrors episodes, exploring capitalism and participation in hyperreality.
I find this interesting with 2Africa(Facebook) and Equiano project(Google), using Free Space Optical Communication. To me it seems as a way to have ownership of the physical infrastructure of the internet and also have sway on how the digital infrastructure can become a monopoly separated from the Telecom companies around Africa.
The thing about the exodus is that it is a harbinger of an online community that resembles SF. The pandemic and the fires accelerated the idea of moving out, ofcourse many people in the past including Elon Musk, Palmer Lucky, etc wanted to be out. In this scenario , exit is becoming more than voice. Most of the things that make SF great are being uploaded to the cloud through various programs like Reforge, SUS, Pioneer, OnDeck. It is becoming more interesting to build in the cloud.
The only blockchain that seems to be addressing the energy problem is Chia. Ethereum already has issues with energy usage, even more so, Bitcoin. I think this could work ideally on Chia protocol https://www.chia.net/
Affordance aims to provide an expert community for helping with startups. We are very early and thus do not have architects yet, but looking to add this domain.
