joemazerino··on Homeschooling hits record numbers
You're forgetting an important distinction: Freedom of religion amongst various Christian denominations. Failure to recognize this as a historical fact leads to back to the original point of public education being a morality platform and not an objective educative platform.
joemazerino··on Homeschooling hits record numbers
Take this thought, apply it to your favorite non-Western country and tell me where you end up.
joemazerino··on Homeschooling hits record numbers
The notion of being "elected" when you have a gun pointed at you at the ballot casting is silly.
joemazerino··on Measuring political bias in Claude
Are you certain it wasn't mirroring back your responses?
joemazerino··on Blowing ChatGPT's mind. Is this just sycophancy? Or a realistic assessment?
This. ChatGPT is an assistant and we aren't supposed to listen to assistant's flattery.
joemazerino··on Ubiquiti Flex Mini 2.5G Review Ubiquiti Does a Cheap 5-Port 2.5GbE Switch
Bought a few of these to extend my hardware coverage around the house. The PoE slot works nice to stick it in a small access panel. Performance is good. Overall good and affordable piece of equipment.
joemazerino··on Families say cost of housing means they'll have fewer or no children
Probably elsewhere, too, but that doesn't lead to calling the current administration Nazis.

The hardware Samsung provides is not up to spec.
joemazerino··on Sodium-ion batteries have started to appear in cars and home storage
Most solar battery banks have moved on to LFP as of last year. They work to 10f if I'm not mistaken. Booting it up before the cold sets in will ensure it can run.
joemazerino··on State of AI Report 2025
As if artists and writers don't deliberately plagiarize works and combine them to make something new.
joemazerino··on GrapheneOS is ready to break free from Pixels
When is the last time a mobile OS worked with an OEM and found long-term success?
joemazerino··on ESP32 and Termux
Cool article. Did anyone else check their screens for damage while reading?

If I am not mistaken, a court ruled those emergency powers were overreach.
joemazerino··on What GPT-OSS leaks about OpenAI's training data
One reason to do this is to test what the underlying model is for a stealth model.
joemazerino··on Magic Wormhole: Get things from one computer to another, safely
I've used croc extensively and had no issues.
joemazerino··on Magic Wormhole: Get things from one computer to another, safely
Syncthing is for storing files across different endpoints. Magic wormhole sends a file to a computer.
joemazerino··on Signal Protocol and Post-Quantum Ratchets
Realistically could use an e-sim or text verification service to sign up.
joemazerino··on YouTube caves to Trump with $24.5M settlement
"Caves" is doing heavy lifting work here. Censoring a president should come with repercussions.
joemazerino··on Farewell friends
Followed humble dollar during my stint in personal investing. There was a revival of personal blogs pitching index funds alongside books like The Wealthy Barber.

Its sad and scary to see just how fast he died from cancer. Also bewildering he stopped smoking at 27.

All in all, RIP.

joemazerino··on Flagship mobile phone with hardware kill switches for privacy
No, it means the phone isn't suitable for security maximalists. GrapheneOS doesn't support any hardware except the Pixels.
joemazerino··on ChatGPT Pulse
Figuring out which fertilizer, how often to water and sun placement for the plants is a useful AI request.
joemazerino··on DSM Disorders Disappear in Statistical Clustering of Psychiatric Symptoms (2024)
This. Studying your own psyche from an (as possible) outside perspective can help enlighten you on the who, why and especially -- when. Uncovering latent trauma isn't fun but it is important.
joemazerino··on Want to piss off your IT department? Are the links not malicious looking enough?
Fantastic link, very educational.
joemazerino··on Bertrand Russell to Oswald Mosley (1962)
Intellectual laziness. Easier to capture your ideological opponent in a box of dismissal than to tackle the points head-on.
joemazerino··on Introduction to GrapheneOS
I don't listen to people who accuse me of being complicit in swatting attacks, and I don't cowtow to bullies. The truth will always come out.
joemazerino··on How big a solar battery do I need to store all my home's electricity?
Not even close. A typical electric split will take 12a to maintain and that is just the heating/cooling system. Car batteries are meant for starts, not maintenance flow.
joemazerino··on Introduction to GrapheneOS
GrapheneOS being in use by people and orgs with a high security requirement dictates an organizational review. OPSEC extends beyond just cyber capabilities.
joemazerino··on ICEBlock handled my vulnerability report in the worst possible way
These concerns are justified but it is ironic bringing up GrapheneOS which routinely blocks critics as well.
joemazerino··on ICEBlock handled my vulnerability report in the worst possible way
Hack it then, micah. Show how l33t you are
joemazerino··on US economy added just 22,000 jobs in August, unemployment highest in 4 yrs
Weakening USD was and is still part of Trump's plan. Paying the deficit back with a weak dollar while raking in tariff revenue.
