I’m not sure I can agree with you about the New Yorker’s “wokeness” and bias. But I will say that the magazine’s humor pieces and cartoons have changed completely over the past ten years. They used to be genuinely funny, sometimes hilarious, and appealed to a broader wit and humanity. Now they’re miserably self-referential. I doubt they’re even funny to the tiny in-group of wealthy anxious Manhattanites for whom they’re written.

Serious answer: It isn’t intellectual, there’s no property, and you have no rights.

Agreed, it’s some skilled and enjoyable writing here. But I think the author was suggesting that the NFT “movement” is actually different than the counterculture of the 1960s, in that it’s rooted in financial aspiration and capitalism, rather than rejecting it in favor of meaning.

I’ll second this, though with some hesitation. If you just want to get stuff done, start with tidyverse. But if and when it’s time to start writing classes and packages, you may have to go back and gather some of the fundamentals.
