Here in this very thread I'm quite sure there's dozens of people who have pretty much made millions off of the back of this exact thing, i.e. working as developers at the likes of Google, Meta and Apple, part of the machine.
We need those people to atone and start funding lawyers out of pocket and bringing such cases, rather than just chatting about woe is me. In Europe that is, where the judiciary is still much less captured - the US is a lost cause. Such lawsuits are also much cheaper than going up against MegaCorp in US court.
This has not always been the case. And still isn't in plenty of locales and companies. The S&P 500 of 2025 doesn't define immutable universal laws.
If this isn't satisfied you haven't made a gun, you've made a really shitty grenade.
Mistake to me implies unintended consequences that differ from the original goal. I've never heard anyone say "Opening Auschwitz was a massive mistake", as its consequences were exactly as intended. In the same way, dismantling 18F is not a mistake.
How do you do, fellow kids?
It's been two years now since such commonly agreed upon signs appeared yet by and large they're still just as present to this day.
This is just such an insane thing to say. It's like a Russian posting "I really hope our DOJ/FTC splits up Lukoil into a dozen companies!". But Russians don't post that because they're actually sensible.
I'm sure this will be a massively unpopular one, but it doesn't change that this is the reality you're facing. Go look across the makeup of the EU parliament over the last 20 years and how it has shifted. Check the main reason people have voted this way. Then go look at how the EU parties vote.
"But it shouldn't be this way!" Then enjoy your further slide into authoritarianism.
Which Google department are you at? Some good stuff you've convinced yourself of here. My social circle is 99% normies, not once of them has ever brought this up. Normie news doesn't bring it up. You do though, to justify yourself.
A recent event last year in the US also immediately resulted in actions undertaken whereas peaceful protests did not. Mostly protective actions, but it showed a very clear impact, the contrast was stark.
Censoring of e.g. Twitter in Brazil (and afaik India) has famously increased a lot after its takeover by US vice-president Musk.
