I'm Jalal Maskoun, a founder and technology builder focused on AI, agentic systems, automation, and the future of work.

I'm based in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa), where I'm interested in building technology and exploring how AI can change the way companies are built and operated.

I'm particularly interested in AI-native companies, autonomous agents, software, startups, automation, organizational design, and the evolution of knowledge work.

I spend a lot of time thinking about how AI agents can move beyond being tools and become part of the operating infrastructure of a company — executing workflows, coordinating work, and helping organizations operate with less administrative overhead.

I share ideas and lessons from building and exploring technology, startups, AI, and the MENA ecosystem.

> The point in military involvement is

There's no point of military involvement whatsoever. This is just to expand the government power over the civil society and they doing it through the military. If you are worried as government about covid cases, well start with the vaccine. Buy more or do more to distribute the shots. But enforce lockdown and then send the military? This is so disturbing.

jimmy2020··on Covid in Sydney: Military deployed to help enforce lockdown
Yes, they withdrew from Afghanistan there's money to be spent domestically or internationally.
jimmy2020··on Covid in Sydney: Military deployed to help enforce lockdown
Nine deaths in June led to military deployment. How many deaths from depression, overdose or another mental health problem happened in June and will happen due to lockdown hysteria. And why not put more resources into vaccination rather than enforce lockdown by military.

I don't know if you gonna read this, but I should give a credit for your take on the subject. This is what you were talking about: https://edwardsnowden.substack.com/p/ns-oh-god-how-is-this-l...

> Apps have been "building themselves" for decades: it's called a compiler.

To your point, can I call the cement mixer a self-made building material that resulted in an accumulation of 4000-year-old of knowledge?

Every known industry has different levels of production to reach the final product. Which may be a tool builder to automate the industry. Exactly the same way the building evolves to the prefabricated. The limitations are with the raw material which is clearly to the advantage of the software industry.

> Meanwhile, better abstractions, programming languages, type systems, mathematical advances, training programs, techniques, and architectures have been raising that water level every year for a long time

I totally agree with all of the above. But that can be done along with investing more in the essential no-code tools. And if some has decided to go further good luck.

The argument about we need to do more so please let's stop the entire direction of automating because somewhere they still using CRUD, old-fashioned and unmaintainable code is similar to let's stop space discovery because we still have problems on the planet earth. We can do both.

I am not expecting developers to welcome the new "No-code" movement. But eventually, it will happen. An app that's capable of building itself, supposed to be the next generation of building apps. Take a look at web development. It's revolutionary and changing fast. Users have more power than anytime before. More flexibility is being added every day with the rising of third parties services that make development faster and more reliable than ever. The question should be about complexity. How to manage the "no-code" complexity. Is it better for the user or it will add a new burden of learning? Does the no-code mean a special team to learn how to build without coding. Is it cheap, or hiring a specialist is better when it comes to fixing bugs and shipping new features.

How do you feel about an entity committing war crimes and pretend to get involved in humanitarian efforts inside the US? Do think it's suspicious? Or genuine efforts, killing in one part and aiding in another. Seriously, I am curious to know. Do you think it's just about helping or more about the media campaign? And how do you consider war crimes nonsensical inflammatory thing? Well, at least it is not a "thing".

It would be great if IDF did the same when it comes to Gaza:

I don't think NATO has any value here. It's a signal of unity not just to China but to Russia. This is how Biden admin defines "America is back". So it might be aggressive but actually, it's a unity message. Us, the allies, against them the adversaries.

You have a valid point. I am not arguing against it. I was trying to say discussing how MS deals with the subject is not the point. But after reading your recent comment, well, I guess we should talk more about MS failure.

> It is about 3 decades of seemingly intentional inability to deliver secure product.

This is a consumer choice. You don't trust Microsoft, you don't use its services. On the government level, you ask for regulations if the situation is escalated (if necessary). But dealing with global cyberattacks is not Microsoft problem and it's not connected to one company or one service. It's an international responsibility to act and establish a framework that prevents such attacks.

> Portcullises fortified the entrances to many medieval castles, securely closing off the castle during time of attack or siege.

Is the US in a state of war with China? Do we need medieval tactics to deal with cyber security? Why insisting on blaming the victim.

Agreed. Microsoft should clarify how this happened and what measurements will take to prevent this incident from happening again. Still, the problem is with robbery and it should be condemned. Why changing the subject to Microsoft? I don't think whataboutism is the valid argument here.

it's a rare view to see a site that contains 97.4% html. I can only imagine what's like to build a newer version right now and if it's going to enhance UX or just add a ton of code and unnecessary logic.

The problem with the DFlex approach is it calculates coordinates and positions internally without calling browser API. While this approach considers very lightweight and allows to scale the number of interacted elements without causing any problem it has a trade-off. If one number is calculated wrong it affects all other node dependencies. One solution to this problem is considering a save mode to minimize error boundaries. Anyway, I'll investigate it and see where things go wrong. Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it.

Yes please, I can't fix the bug without being able to test it and reproduce it step by step so I can detect what went wrong.

Keep in your mind that I need feedback, that’s why I am taking the risk of publishing the demo without adding scrolling yet. There’s a reason, I am desperate for a feedback. I know it can be buggy but this is every software with a new concept. With that being said, I don’t push to production without testing at all. I am sorry to have such a bad experience, still, I am asking you to give it a second chance and look deeper into the API. Bugs can be fixed but concepts can’t. I welcome any issues and I’ll be happy if you open one. (https://github.com/dflex-js/dflex)
