jger15··on Vocabulary as a Meta Mental Model
Great post -- re: exploring new vocabularies, Ted Gioia touched on this in regards to cultivating music taste which I found helpful.

"So what you need to do, if you really want to broaden your horizons as a listener, is to get exposed to new things. Pick somebody. [...] Find somebody who you trust as a guide, and let them open your ears to these new experiences."

So what's the best way to find new guides?

jger15··on Ask HN: Going from manager to executive. What should I know or learn?
Congrats! Found this to be a thought-provoking read: http://delian.io/lessons-3
jger15··on Terror management theory
Denial of Death by Ernest Becker is a great read.
jger15··on How will movies, as we know them, survive the next ten years?
Curious how Quibi comes into play with short-form.

Have also noticed Fox Searchlight has been recently acquiring short films out of the past few film fests. Believe they're making those avail on their YouTube channel.

jger15··on How will movies, as we know them, survive the next ten years?
Agreed -- makes me think of the Fleabag example.

Think it's much easier for people to consume 25min chunks across 2 seasons (6 episodes each) than a full-length film.

jger15··on How will movies, as we know them, survive the next ten years?
Good read - Jenkins' commentary especially

Would recommend along with "Bad Behavior" and "The Mare."

jger15··on What the Hell Is Going On? Effects of Information Abundance
Great distillation of the internet's effect on business, education and politics.

Perell references Martin Gurri and Ben Thompson throughout. Going to dig in to Gurri as I'm not as familiar.

Alex Danco's series on Understanding Abundance is probably a good reference point as well.

"Convenience Store Woman" by Sayaka Murata
