Hi Anthony,
I'm sorry that you feel we were't straight forward, although our goal was to be completely transparent in our communication with you about the status of this feature. Since the time of launch, we thought we had clearly messaged that international SMS has been an unsupported feature, and that the entire product was in beta status. We had published this fact on our SMS product FAQs, as well as in the public GetSatisfaction forums. Our apologies that we weren't clear enough about that fact, which caused you to roll international SMS features into your app.
We do pride ourselves on putting developers and their applications first, and in being open in our communications, product capabilities and limitations. Please feel free to email me at jeff@twilio.com, I'm always open to feedback, questions, comments or concern.
Sincerely,
Jeff Lawson Co-Founder & CEO Twilio.com
I think that's just neato!
Yes, GV is great for consumers, but we built OpenVBX for businesses, and it's hackable so you can customize it fully. Check it out, would love feedback!
FYI: OpenVBX does transcriptions, emails, text messages and has competitive overseas prices :)

I have a Roku box, but Boxee is pushing the ball forward in getting developers to build for the set-top... which is the right direction.
It's bi-directional... ie, cookie state for the conversation. But in the quickstart, if you think about it... you only increment the counter once for the received message and the reply that the script is going to send, so the counter works out correctly. You had us thinking for a few minutes there :)

As Caligula pointed out, you can "play around" with VoiceXML on a number of Enterprise platforms such as TellMe, but if you want to launch, you'll have to engage in a long enterprise sales cycle and sign long contracts. That's no fun :(
