I didn't find the use case section, the first thing I read before code, implementation example or whatever. Why is it always lacking in SaaS landpages?
I'm a huge consumer of YouTube content, playing x2 speed all the time and now using AI to transcript and summarize. It's not that I'm afraid to miss high value added information on YouTube but I'm too lazy to read it elsewhere, except on HN.
Hello Alex, I've built a similar app for my own usage, I don't plan to ship it online. How do you handle token limitation for summarizing lengthy videos?
There always been plagiarism and copies, just that gpt makes it easier and faster... Nothing new just more efficient. So what? Purpose of AI is to accelerate the production of worldwide intelligence, it goes with its downsides like producing more noise. No tradeoff.
With that model you need to ensure wrappers won't send requests with tons of tokens as you will be the one who ends up paying for gpu bandwidth... Meaning your spending is based on usage
If you expect AI to generate a complete project bug free from one line comment, yes it will need some time before that happens. Github co-pilot has been a game changer for me just because it allows me to code 20%-30% faster. As SWE our only way to scale is by improving our productivity and spend less time writing casual snippets of code.
Prolly the need for recognition because if you hack from public wifi with tails tor mullvad, brand new laptop with specific hardware and so on I don't see how you can get caught up
Don't listen to old folks, you're able to ship quality code production ready already, uni won't make you a better engineer comparing to a self taught path that you have already started and have made results with. The more you make money young the better it will compound through the years the earlier you can retire. Focus on making money, not degree. Keep this creative energy, bootstrap more projects, continue to bring value to the world... It will pay off. You're obviously talented, following uni will end up wasting your time which is highly valuable at that age.
I agree with the moderator, AI will push artists to their limits and force them to become creative which is the most important skill of an artist. Technicality isn't enough nowadays, doesn't matter if you can paint like Raphael, you need to be creative like Picasso or Dali.
Dichotomy between product first and code first is non sense to me
I'm a nerd and love to share about complex and technicals subjects about coding but I never forget that my job is to deliver a value for people (B2C, B2B... doesn't matter), there's no point coding for code unless you want to show off that your solution is best than your fellows'. So to me, elegant code is just an ego trip
"Historically, however, walking has been the privilege of white men." Come on...
Anyway, Nietzsche used to walk before writing like Darwin
Long time ago I read that walking or taking a shower make your thinking more effective because it somehow enables automation mode and allow to be more focused
