I've been using Windows 7 since its RC release, well over a year now. I use OSX, too. Windows 7 has been amazing, MS really got it right this time, after the Vista disaster. Windows 7 rocks!

You still need to go to Chrome extension website right? It's not that when you go to a website that has FB connect, the Chrome asks if you want to block it or not. That would be effective though.

I know quite a few non-technical person who use Chrome. I cannot guarantee that they know how to install an extension though. Most of the non-tech people uses internet primarily for FaceBook and they shouldn't be concerned when they see their FaceBook on say, CNN.com.

It's a blessing for people like me who see the 'you are not authorized to visit this site and will be reported' kind of message on your office computer.

I prefer browser extension. Its much easier for general public and you don't need to restart the browser, now that's convenient.

It is true that you can express yourself better through email than in phone. The benefit of having something documented helps a lot in the future. I think its okay to tell people that your preferred method of communication is email.

I agree, but the author says they build for 'tech' companies and they want the product out the door fast. In that case, I would care less about IE when the market is around 2%. IMO you can gracefully decrease your support for IE when the traffic is below 10%. The amount of work you do to make your sites work of IE does not justify for the 10%. Just my opinion.

I am sorry if I was not clear enough, but my interpretation of other domains was music players, tablets,etc. I agree Sharepoint and SQL Server are huge hits and they are doing good in corporate applications.

Microsoft in the recent decade, has tried to indulge itself on different domains of IT. Obviously, it has failed on all of them, as stated by the author of this article.

IMO, on contrary to the author, MS should stick to desktop/laptop Operating Systems. Desktop usage might have decreased but laptop is not going anywhere. There is so much market untapped in the world, I can't see the end of desktop OS.

I don't see not using my laptop fo at least a decade. And yes, I don't want to use iOS or Android on my laptop. I like the old school Linux, Windows or OSX.

Microsoft is not in trouble until they make products like Windows 7.

With more and more people using touch-screens even for non-mobile sites, it is a bad decision to store information on hover.

Personally, I never liked hover. I think it is one of the most abused functionality. I agree with the author that if the information is important, it should be on the screen already.

There is a high probability that you wouldn't have had diabetes in the first place. You would be living a very healthy life and more physical activities and oh yes, healthier non-GM foods.

Fate as in, if Mozilla came up with a Windows-killer OS and all the Windows user moved to the new Mozilla OS. Than people will be stuck with FF 3.6, even after 10 years from now.

Firefox and Chrome would have the same fate, if they are as widely used as Windows/IE and comes default with an OS(Windows killer), like IE.

This will always be a problem. The corporates and most of the business will always use whatever comes with their OS, for a simple reason that they don't have administrative rights to upgrade their browser, or simply because its just an extra overhead for the corporation to upgrade thousands of their workstations.

I can't think of any alternatives to this problem. I am pretty sure I will still be considering IE6 while developing websites in 2015, let alone IE8.

There has been increasing use of url shorteners by spammers. The problem is you don't know which domain you're heading to. My mantra: treat all short urls as spam.

Only issue is with the CMS urls. I think it should be made 'best practice' rather than just 'SEO optimization', to use URL rewriting by CMS developers.

Can anyone else verify that BuyVM is a good/reliable service? I am planning to get one.

I wonder why you even need an ATM there. I mean, you are very limited to what you spend on and most funding comes from corporates and projects. I guess, you don't even need an ATM card, you pretty much know who visits the ATM. duh!
