Look, I'm not a big fan of all of Rails' monkeypatching. That's why I don't use Rails anymore, I use other Ruby frameworks like Bridgetown, Roda, and Hanami. But there's definitely a way to dive into the "magic" and find out what's going on.

I would love an actual head-to-head comparison between Zig and Rust with real commentary on both the shortcomings and the wins.
I'd love to see a lot more writing and advocacy around Ruby, and not Ruby/Rails. I don't use Ruby/Rails! I use Ruby. And I suspect a lot of folks who have left Ruby behind over the years might not realize some (many?) of their gripes are not with Ruby in general, but Rails in particular.
I'm very excited about htmx 4.0 and sounds like things are headed in a promising direction.
Only people who already live in a position of privilege get to have "little time" and settle for worldviews which advocate for a sort of bland tolerance of extremism. I can assure you, for people who are being actively harmed by hateful rhetoric and political policies, "those who are not with us are against us" is absolutely a reality.
No xenophobic racist with an ounce of sense is going to write something like "brown people are rapist criminals who have invaded our lands and must be cleansed". It's absurd to maintain we must provide that as proof or it didn't happen.
But not me, because I will never touch an agentic tool. And believe me, I have a big smile on my face. Life is good! =D
I don't know if it's too late for Rails itself to be saved, but we need a robust Ruby ecosystem entirely removed from the RoR framework and we need it yesterday.
This is like the fallacy of marketers who only measure slight short-term increases in engagement. It's not success if you get a temporary bump of 5% if you also end up pissing off a ton of people who will never come back. Eventually the whole thing craters.
I know plenty of Rubyists in Europe who these days find DHH as a person to be completely odious, not to mention a maintainer in violation of CoC.
