Yes exactly, that's the goal. Both things you mention (seamless upload/integration of existing libraries and importing your favorite photo apps) are on top of our list.

Hi, cofounder of Loom here. We upload all of your photos and videos and want to make that experience as easy and transparent as possible. We have especially focussed on being able to manage uploads/syncing for a lot of data since many people have libraries north of ~100GB.

Even though they removed the limit from the terms today, it was still active when I tried to upload images to Flickr just now. They'll probably correct that soon, still not the most trustworthy way of making this kind of announcement.

Second that. This is a horrible comparison. Not only can Facebook turn users into gold, Instagram was the first real threat to build a social network that could turn into a threat for Facebook. Both Facebook and Instagram started off by making photos social, extremely successful.

Oh yes, such a nightmare. I moved from Germany to the UK, 2 app store accounts. Then I moved from the UK to the US, 3 app store accounts. I am consistently switching accounts and accidentally repurchasing apps ever since. Luckily, it seems, that with iOS 6 at least you can update all apps, no matter which region they're from (how ridiculous that already sounds), without typing in passwords/switching accounts over and over again.

I can assure you that the process of iteration is horrible on iOS. It's awful to be in the situation having a team that is able to learn fast and develop improvements within days, but then having to wait a 7 day cycle for every new improvement or test. Plus from time to time Apple will just reject you - last weekend our update (a bug fix update!) was rejected because of a method name we were carrying for months. This is really not helping anybody, neither app developers nor users.

I actually think that Dave's response was pretty lame. That was a typical PR/B2C response, neglecting that he is talking to techies here.
