Would chainmail armour be practical here ?

New princes in India went to ashrams to learn all these things or have dedicated gurus.

Not much as cultural appropriation but I consider it disrespectful to Hinduism that people don't acknowledge the origins with respect. This is not just about westerners but most Indians even Hindus do the same. Stripping Hinduism of all its good parts but vociferously pinning all the bad parts on it even if they have had strong social moorings. Even Govt of India has to say it is not religious to appease to the sentiments of Muslims and Christians.

To simplify, Yoga means union (with the existence) and the word has sacred/divine connotations. So using it for all sorts of things like say naked yoga etc and disregarding the sanskrit name for the yogasanas and calling it things like downward dog pose etc is uncomfortable. Hopefully the yogasana practicioners will get curious and go deeper into the philosophy and mindset of the Hindu philosophy.

If anyone wants the full Yoga experience I recommend organisations like ISHA Yoga Foundation.

Btw regarding open source software comparisons, people either want to force the original repo into drastically changing the rules of contribution or instead of forking it and acknowledging the original project they just want to copy it with same name but do their own thing (for eg mindfulness vs meditation)

>Why do you think that never took off?

Maybe takes a lot of time and no expensive contracts and kickbacks ;)

How about America stop poaching the best minds from all other countries and making those countries poorer.

Can you share those slack channels?

Yeah sure

we already have it 'dribbblisation of design'

People who never had an encounter with a criminal have absolutely no idea how terrifying it is.

If WaPo was any less hinduphobic and slightly more honest, the headline would have been "Finally Justice for Kashmiri Hindus who were brutally driven out of their own homeland by Islamic extremists backed by pakistan"

Justice For Victims of Kashmiri Hindu genocide.

you probably meant 'screenreaders' instead of 'screensavers'

Apple should buy Tesla ;)

The answer is 'hindsight is 2020'

If 'show me how it's done' is video then books are 'tell me how it's done'. The 'let me figure this out after reading it' would mostly be some docs.

Nice. This HN thread is a goldmine of info for me. Appreciate all these sharing of resources.

You are just herding goats amirite?

Looks interesting. Thanks for sharing. I will take a look though I know nothing about Shopify and only familiar with WordPress.

How closer one is to the end of the runway.

Can you link to this thread?

I put comma ',' instead of the dot '.' in a file name with extension and wasted a couple of hours debugging.

JS peasant here, I have not touched python recently but had to run a .py script to automate a task with FB website, sure enough had to download a couple of things from this person's website.

I do the same thing, just the topics are different - permaculture, food forests, urban/terrace gardening, off-grid living, survival prep etc

The CCP should realise this is not 1962 and they cannot just keep needling India directly or via pakistan for stroking their egos.

I have that but I'm currently doing the webdev course by Angela yu. Heard that colt steele has planned for an update.. no one knows when. As far as I can see the big difference is colt doesn't cover react.

I don't know about this particular course but almost anything on Hinduism comes with huge biases from western institutions. This is explained in the book 'Academic Hinduphobia' available recently as a free PDF.

I would recommend reading the book 'Being Different' by Rajiv Malhotra to balance out any such courses on Hinduism.

Disclaimer - Indian hindu

Same thing in India too

Are you taking colt Steele's web dev course on Udemy?
