ipselon··on Ask HN: Coming from server/client, what client js framework to pickup?
Now React has so big ecosystem (Redux, a lot of components, many libs) that I can say it is a reliable framework for creating Web applications.
ipselon··on Ask HN: Coming from server/client, what client js framework to pickup?
Try React, look at this https://github.com/ipselon/sdr-bootstrap-prepack
ipselon··on Will you use ReactJS with a REST service instead of GWT in Java app?
We are crafting a system which will help to overcome the difficulties which Java developers have when they try to make a modern front-end utilising great frameworks and technologies from JavaScript world.

The first step is done, we made a visual development tool Structor (https://github.com/ipselon/structor) for React UI.

The next step will be a bunch of source code generators, which will produce React components along with Ajax methods for REST endpoints.

Shortly, Structor will generate all source code for UI components along with the glue code for connection to the back end.

In addition there will be starter-kits which include different combinations of Spring Boot application, set of ReactUI components, and etc.

We are on the early stage, but I think this will greatly simplify the development of the front-end for the enterprise.

What do you think about such approach?

ipselon··on Ask HN: React JS instead of GWT in Java application?
Just to clarify our approach I made a video. Here you can see how to create a sign in menu for Facebook and GooglePlus in Structor.

And there are 2 boilerplate projects for Structor here: http://helmetrex.com

ipselon··on Structor – a user interface builder for React
Didn't try. But, you are right this set of components is rather unstable and heavy even for the browser on desktop.
ipselon··on Structor – a user interface builder for React
A lot of improvements have been done since that time.
ipselon··on Structor – a user interface builder for React
All following about Structor (of which I'm apart of).

Imagine you should start a greenfield project for a Web app with modern UI (for example, a new micro service, which will have a Web app for the administration purpose).

And imagine, you have a starter-kit with a bunch of ready to use React UI components along with infrastructure for a Web app (for example, react-redux-starter-kit, but with React Bootstrap and React Widgets libs inside).

In addition, you have a tool, which allows visually combine any type of components on the Web page. Moreover, this tool has an ability to generate a scaffolded source code for UI components connected to any kind of frameworks like Redux, Relay, etc. (with actions, reducers, routes, so on…).

The tool automatically compiles all new source code and reuses all generated components on the page.

Of cause, you are not limited in editing the source code of the project in your favourite IDE, because compiler and hot-loader will patch pages with your changes in tool's workspace.

Would you like to use such a tool in your project?

And if yes, what type of the scaffolds for the source code you would like to use?

a) Infrastructure generators:

Generate REST service with Swagger docs by entered Swagger configuration format.

Generate GraphQL server by entered data structure in GraphQL schema format.

b) Component generators:

Generate Redux wrapped components connected to existing REST API.

Generate Relay wrapper components connected to existing GraphQL server.

Thank you, I appreciate your opinion.
ipselon··on Structor – UI Builder for React
I'm author of Structor. Now I'm working on documentation. If you have any questions you want to know, please put the issue on GitHub (https://github.com/ipselon/structor) or write directly to support. Thanks.
ipselon··on Structor – UI Builder for React
BTW, did you try to do something in Structor ?
ipselon··on Structor – UI Builder for React
It was said in the sample project on market site: "this project is fully customisable and hackable". You may create and bring in the project any React (and not even React) component you wish.

When team of Material UI components will make stable their library for react 0.14.0 I will publish project with Material UI components on market.

Would it be enough to say that this is customisable ?

ipselon··on Structor – UI Builder for React
Could you explain what is shame here ?
ipselon··on Structor – UI Builder for React
No, there is no demo for builder. Structor runs as server on localhost and reads files from local filesystem. So, if there was a demo for each on-line demo session we would have to start new docker container or something like it.
ipselon··on Structor – UI Builder for React
"Project" here means the boilerplate on the market. But not the project on the GitHub.
ipselon··on Structor – UI Builder for React
Didn't try so far. Will think about it...
ipselon··on Structor – UI Builder for React
I have a discussion about embedding builder into Electron here https://github.com/ipselon/react-ui-builder/issues/10

And I didn't get the answer on my question: how developer will work with this in Electron ?

ipselon··on Structor – UI Builder for React
Did you try it already ?
ipselon··on Ask HN: How to monetise helmetrex.com?
Thanks, here is my reframing: https://www.quora.com/How-do-we-can-monetise-ReactJS-Compone...
ipselon··on New prepack with Material UI components, start prototyping immediately
But before you have to install React UI Builder https://www.npmjs.com/package/react-ui-builder
ipselon··on Ask HN: How to monetise helmetrex.com?
Yes we can, and actually now we started to implement this. But my question is more about how to attract the investors to our project.
ipselon··on React Component Exchange integrated with React UI Builder
There is only one ready project in React Component Exchange. But I believe that this project will have a great future. Tight coupling of the Component Exchange site with React UI Builder https://github.com/ipselon/react-ui-builder (visual tool for building complex UI using React components) will give a start to publish ready to use projects with React components.

Though, there are not many docs about the builder on this site so far, please try React UI Builder. It has very friendly and simple interface.

ipselon··on Ask HN: Are JavaScript developers divided into 'fron-end devs' and 'true devs'?
Aha, I got it. So, front-end developers may event don't know about nodejs ?
ipselon··on Ask HN: Are JavaScript developers divided into 'fron-end devs' and 'true devs'?
I needed to ask about this division because I'm rather new in this community, and I created the tool which is devoted to simplify development of UI (react-ui-builder). And now I'm deciding if I need to switch generation of the source code to ES6, or wait a bit.
ipselon··on Ask HN: I am the creator of React UI Builder. I'm looking for support
It would be great if you find it's reasonable to support React UI Builder

https://github.com/ipselon/react-ui-builder

ipselon··on Show HN: React UI Builder Demo On-Line
Thank you a lot, I love you defined the builder as component factory, let me use it as expression or slogan. As for your workflow with builder I think it's suitable for big legacy projects, and I will think how to make easier to export group of components as library or whatever can be injected in outside.

Also if you have any projects, which has useful components or just a whole project which is doing something useful please din't hesitate to upload projects into our gallery.

Also if you whant to propose some ideas to me, please write to me directly in any way convenient for you.

ipselon··on React UI Builder
Who doesn't want to install react-ui-builder locally I made on-line demo version. However, demo doesn't allow use it full cycle development.

ipselon··on Show HN: React UI Builder Demo On-Line
Drag & drop is not precise in positioning of the elements on page. So, I developed this approach which turned out more productive.

Could you describe your development process using the tool ? It would be helpful for improving the builder for such process as you have.

ipselon··on React UI Builder
Hi,

There is problem with fs lib in node.js. So, please update your local node.js to the current version.

ipselon··on React UI Builder
You are absolutely right. But I should confess builder was inspired and some ideas were taken from those builders interfaces. :-)
ipselon··on React UI Builder
There are a lot of such tools which allow to create a layout of your pages. In case of builder you should consider page as a desk for combining components into some composition which you will reuse as a component itself. So, there is very small similarity - only because you can copy/paste/delete some components.
