"what happened at tianamen square"
It starts typing and then has a panic and deletes what it wrote.
There is no benefit in always being praised for your efforts if you cannot deliver the goods.
Where is the transition? At some point ability is more important than effort.

I don't think there are any phase effects in the parent attached? Or are there?
We had used a primitive rolling hand scanner to scan in huge tables of metal alloy data along with recommended usages. My father wrote the query engine using Savvy and I wrote the text based windowing UI.
Would be neat if someone could turn up some record of it somewhere. My father has been retired since ever and has no records of the system either.
> I'm planning to set up a way for people to get the .pt files and the ONNX models with unlimited outputs for people who support further development of the project on Ko-Fi (https://ko-fi.com/stephansturges), the goal being to offset some of the cost of training these networks (over 60K USD spent on AWS to date! )
Not everyone has that kind of spare cash around
The first thing I would NOT do is get on hacker news and bitch about how the project is being deceptive and evil. That is just lazy and entitled thinking.
""" Tell me a poem in Polish about dance and love and loss and a spider called stephan """
It goes into a tailspin repeating the following line over and over again till it crashes.
""" W tym kąciku kątny, gdzie tango tańczyli, Była tylko ona, tylko on, tango. W tym kąciku kątny, gdzie tango tańczyli, Była tylko ona, tylko on, tango. """

This clarification has been there since at least 2020 https://web.archive.org/web/20200531093348/https://code.visu...
And slighting different wording but also clear has been there earlier.
You may not like the non open source license but it is not deceptive. It clearly states what it is.
On the vscode landing page they say. "built on open source" with a link to where you can clearly read the license. The ONLY thing that is important is the licence. This clarifies that parts of the product are not open source. At this point you can either use the product or not use the product. But as YOU didn't build it or pay for it you have no place to complain. This is the same sense of entitlement that causes people to harass open source maintainers to fix a bug or implement some feature. People want everything for free and are outraged when they find that the world is not so. Yes it is convenient to go to the package manager and find just what you were looking for without having to do any work or commit any contribution but this is a privilege and not a right. It's amazing that any open source exists at all and where it exists we should say thankyou and where it doesn't either button up and pay or build it yourself.
When I was six, my father burned me with a lesson. We were at a fairground, and I saw a pyramid of cans. The standard game: throw a ball and knock em down. At six years old, I was already a good throw. I knew I could win. My father made me an offer. He gave me the money for the game and told me that was my lunch money. If I won, I'd get both lunch and the win otherwise .....
Of course, even the best six-year-old has a very low chance of knocking over those weighted cans. The house wins. I went hungry that day.
Since then, I’ve had a terrible reaction to gambling. Casinos make me feel ill just walking through and seeing all the sad faces. I’ve never bought a lottery ticket in my life. I always feel that hungry belly when I think of gambling and it turns me right off.

* Siemens NXI think you answered this yourself.
Then only extremely socially minded people would dare to do the job.
There was a similar sci fi story I read. At the end of a war the rule was that all allied ( not enemy ) generals would be executed. The idea was that war was such a horrible concept that to lead one would require extreme sacrifice and social consciousness on the part of the leaders. War was legal and to be fought without limit however on conclusion all leaders would be put to death. I don't remember the author or the story name.
In Europe it is capped at 0.3%. So much for market forces in the land of the free!

There is also a new EU law on the books mandating the provision of instant digital payments across the market. The critical paragraph in the law is that providers are *not allowed* to charge more for instant payments than delayed cleared payments. This will effectively drive the cost of retail instant digital payments to zero.

Quote from link:
``` PSUs are very sensitive to the level of charges for substitutable payment methods. The level of charges can therefore steer them towards or away from a given payment method. In national markets where higher transaction-level charges for instant credit transfers in euro have been applied, when compared to charges for other credit transfers in euro, the uptake of instant credit transfers is low. That has prevented the attainment of the critical mass of instant credit transfers in euro that is necessary to realise the full network effects for both PSPs and PSUs. Therefore, all types of charges applied to payers and payees for the execution of instant credit transfers in euro, including pertransaction charges or lump-sum charges, should not exceed such charges applied to the same PSU for corresponding types of other credit transfers in euro. It would be undesirable that PSPs circumvent the aim of that requirement. When identifying corresponding types of credit transfers, it should be possible to use criteria including the payment initiation channel or the payment instrument used to initiate the payment, customer status, and additional features or services. ```
