hudell··on Facebook Messenger XMPP is going away
I'm still not over the death of Facebook Messenger for Windows. I've tried to use Pidgin for a while, but Facebook would often stop working and only come back to life a few days later.
hudell··on Facebook Messenger XMPP is going away
I used to have this problem and it was something really stupid, like the local clock's time being wrong.
hudell··on I Gave My Child Autism
Great, now I think I may have it too.
hudell··on Please copy and paste the text of the error
Sadly, the people who will see this are not the people who need to see this.
hudell··on Brazil: hundreds of thousands of protesters call for Rouseff impeachment
It was calculated to around half a million counting all cities. The "1 million people in Sao Paulo" was an estimate that was soon proved false.
hudell··on Brazil: hundreds of thousands of protesters call for Rouseff impeachment
This protest got a lot of people with different opinions together. As ridiculous as it sounds, some of them even want the military back in power. Some people had swastikas drawn on their flags. Some others just want someone else on power. All they have in common is their hate for the current president's party, who won the last election with roughly 52% of votes.
hudell··on The day I was DoSed by Google
But would the bot do the same number of requests if it got an error?
hudell··on How I Snuck Through Wikipedia’s Notability Test
Fair enough, I edited the comment.
hudell··on How I Snuck Through Wikipedia’s Notability Test
If the information is verifiable, why can't wikipedia just let the page exist?
hudell··on Google seems to have broken email forwarding
You can search in the spam folder, but some filter actions won't run on messages that are there.
hudell··on Google seems to have broken email forwarding
And to make it worst: Google don't run filters on messages that goes to the spam folders, so you can't even use that.

I always wanted to do the opposite: Run a filter on the spam folder to delete emails that I know for sure that really are spam, so I wouldn't need to delete them manually.

hudell··on Show HN: Advertising-Free Search-Engine
I searched for my game (Orange Season) and the first result was Vladimir Putin
hudell··on Google wants to rank websites based on facts not links
Is it just me or are google results getting worse with time? Five or six years ago I used to find everything on the first page of the first search, but these days I have to keep "rephrasing" my searches to find what I want.
hudell··on How much do indie PC devs make, anyways?
Having to pay for many assets that are free for non commercial projects.
hudell··on How much do indie PC devs make, anyways?
I'm developing a game on my free time too. I've already worked more than a thousand hours on it and I still don't know if I'll go commercial or not.
hudell··on The oldest .com domain names
Well, people say Microsoft didn't think internet was a big deal back on the day.
hudell··on SteveB’s Retirement Announcement
Well, if apple hadn't been forced to release iOS sdk, it probably wouldn't get any significant market share as he predicted.
hudell··on Windows Phone, Latin America’s second most widely used mobile platform
Yeah, at least in the south of Brazil, you can't enter a city without seeing a huge ad saying something like "welcome to cityname, here you can buy windows phones in the storename" That and a lot of pictures of windows phone interface everywhere
hudell··on Windows Phone, Latin America’s second most widely used mobile platform
Stronger marketing, better prices, better UX and I think that a lot of people is still buying their first smartphone, so lack of apps isn't really an issue since they have never had apps in the first place.
hudell··on Brazil protests spread in Sao Paulo, Brasilia and Rio
It took me two year to know we would be hosting the world cup
hudell··on Brazilians Protest High Cost of Hosting World Cup
Thing is, I still don't get what these protests are about, or who are they aimed to. To me, they all look so random.

It's seems to me that it's just a bunch of people that think that the situation is bad, but don't what is wrong, or whose fault it is or what needs to be done ir order to get things fixed.

What are they aiming with this? What would make the protest end? A price-drop on bus fares? The cancelation of the world cup?

I think they want someone, somewhere, to notice this and magically fix everything.

hudell··on What Major World Cities Look Like at Night, Minus the Light Pollution
What surprises me is the difference in nature between brazilian cities and the others. I would like to see one of those pictures of Porto Alegre, where there's almost one tree per person.
hudell··on Remark: The most efficient inbox in the world?
"Remark prioritizes, pre-sorts and cleans your inbox automatically."

Good luck with that, I will stick with my email as it is.

hudell··on You aren't getting any better
Couldn't force myself to keep reading this after "experience has absolutely no correlation with efficacy"
hudell··on I used Google Glass
I get that, but the way people talked about it, I though it was something really horrible. And it turns out it is just a little different. I have used some way more strange stuff in this life of mine.
hudell··on I used Google Glass
Why do people care so much about how they will look with it? I couldn't care less about that.
hudell··on Apple loses right to iPhone name in Brazil
The problem is not what a company has to pay to their employees, but what they have to pay to the government for each employee they have.
hudell··on How I Stopped Eating Food
I don't need to stop whatever I'm doing to think.
hudell··on How I Stopped Eating Food
I still dream of a day when I will be able to drink something with water and never ever need to eat anything again. I hate having to eat. I hate the taste of 90% of things. And I often think about how much time I lose eating.

And the worst thing in the world is when I need to have lunch with someone else.

hudell··on What Happens When You Walk Into a Bar Wearing Google Glasses
"they were sitting there like it was TOTALLY OK"

Why wouldn't it be ok? Why do they care what people wear or use?
