howardr··on Programmers: Stop Whining, Be Productive
The example given to show that the "manager schedule" works isn't even about programming it is about making a wiki page.

I agee that the argument is somewhat BS (I use the excuses sometimes so I can work on something I would prefer to work on), but that doesn't mean that the "markers scheduler" is worse than the "manager schedule"

EDIT: I seem to have missed the point of Alex's article. The comments provide some clarity

howardr··on Advanced JavaScript Techniques
Although it is helpful to the very junior developers at my company, the techniques are by no means "advanced." I suggest he change the title to "Javascript Basics Everyone Should Know."

It's not a terrible article, and he doesn't have bad advice, but as someone else points out in another comment he makes some pretty rookie mistakes (new Objects() instead of {})...

howardr··on How did Paul Krugman get it so Wrong?
That's a very good point. That is the feeling I have been getting during that past year from Krugman when I started reading his columns. I wanted to read him because of his reputation as an economist, but it is almost like he is parlaying that to push his political agenda.
howardr··on Ask HN: What are your (non-hn-related) hobbies?
I am a total finance and economics nerd after being a programmer. I find something really interesting about markets, derivatives, et al.
