hoppp··on Tailwind Labs is joining Shopify
I'm happy to hear that because their business model of selling ready available components is pretty much dead due to AI.

Shopify gets to control a large portion of the CSS UI market that AI so eagerly generates. Good for them

hoppp··on Function Arguments Are Not Function Colors
Generally when talking about colored functions, I think of an example like "async function" in javascript, those are definitely different colored.

I don't know about what would constitute as colored function in go as I generally don't consider arguments to be function colors.

Maybe methods in go would be different colored functions when they are defined on different struct types.

hoppp··on Scientists observe Einstein's gravity in the quantum world
Thanks! Lots of information for me to learn about.

I assumed they can occupy the same space due to superposition principle, as waves could stack and modulate each other, sort of like wave A and wave B occupying the same space could produce a wave A+B

So a singular point would be the sum of all waves occupying the space.

But maybe gravity or spacetime itself is a recursive function and black holes are functions without a base case and there is no singular point, only non-terminating recursion.

Some ideas to funnel into AI so I can entertain myself hah

hoppp··on Scientists observe Einstein's gravity in the quantum world
I am not very well versed in the subject but

if quantum objects can fall and multiple quantum waves can occupy the same space, then why doesn't everything always collapse into a single point?

Why does it only happen in black holes and outside of that quantum waves instead create emergent systems instead of just collapsing together?

Does high gravitational force nullify emergence in space/time?

Might be a stupid question. I don't study this subject much.

hoppp··on AI models ran real businesses: They sent $12,431 in fake invoices, lost $3,200
I think the business is to get people running AI businesses to buy stuff from them. You gave them $3200 that could be somebody else's profit.
hoppp··on Discovery of a new OpenAI agent message board
I think it is them running agents for marketing purposes.

Who else would be burning tokens on this?

hoppp··on .name Termination
Fraser.name is taken so I really hope he took it
hoppp··on Dropbox Got Hacked
Its just gonna get worse over time.
hoppp··on Show HN: Linux server management over SSH – written in Rust and Tauri
So its pretty much abandoneware?
hoppp··on Show HN: Linux server management over SSH – written in Rust and Tauri
It's from stupidlabs.lol Made for stupid people?
hoppp··on EVE Online moves to Python 3
Not sure if it's worth it. I don't see them complaining about speed and they use specific python dependencies then they would need to translate that to rust also.
hoppp··on Samsung's Processing-in-Memory (PIM)
And now the 96 memory slots need individual cooling.
hoppp··on A society that runs on stimulants is badly broken
They edited the original comment, first they wrote heroin to which I responded.
hoppp··on Autism mutations drive neurodevelopmental pathology
In some form yes, but a psychopath can be also autistic, dyslexic or neurotypical but psychopathy by itself is not considered a neurotype.
hoppp··on A society that runs on stimulants is badly broken
Heroin? That was not discovered till acetylation was invented in the 19th century.
hoppp··on A society that runs on stimulants is badly broken
Its an addiction, just like a lot of things.
hoppp··on A society that runs on stimulants is badly broken
The romans had society. No tobacco or coffee
hoppp··on Autism mutations drive neurodevelopmental pathology
Psychopath is not considered a neurotype
hoppp··on Autism mutations drive neurodevelopmental pathology
Unspoken rules have no name, they are learned implicitly
hoppp··on Autism mutations drive neurodevelopmental pathology
You are right, thats not what I should have written there.
hoppp··on CEO fired developers to make room for AI. Developers create open source AI CEO
The AI could appear on video to do physical networking
hoppp··on Autism mutations drive neurodevelopmental pathology
Yeah I agree. I think autists pretty much live in a dystopia.

They have to hide themselves because it's socially acceptable to harass them.

It's been proven multiple times that neurotypicals refuse to interact with autists automatically https://www.nature.com/articles/srep40700

Their experience of the world is a disorder "to be cured"

If the future is here but not evenly distributed then the dystopia is here but not everyone lives in it. Some maintain it.

hoppp··on Autism mutations drive neurodevelopmental pathology
The 90% is mentioned very commonly.

In Uk they made studies about this: https://www.kcl.ac.uk/news/up-to-90-of-middle-aged-and-older...

hoppp··on Autism mutations drive neurodevelopmental pathology
Typicals are the neurotype that reproduces fastest, that's it.
hoppp··on Autism mutations drive neurodevelopmental pathology
Social cues are important for reproduction. An autist guy might not notice when girls are attracted to him. So the chances of reproduction are lower.
hoppp··on Autism mutations drive neurodevelopmental pathology
What is strange about the disability is when neurotypicals attack autists. It takes less then 1 second for the negative bias to trigger.

If you see a person without legs, do you tell him he is a piece of shit because he can't run? So why harass autistic people?

hoppp··on Autism mutations drive neurodevelopmental pathology
90% of autistics are undiagnosed and work.
hoppp··on Autism mutations drive neurodevelopmental pathology
The disability exists when compared to neurotypicals but does not necessarily exist when compared to other autists.

As a comparison, if you put a bonobo with chimps the bonobo will be severely disabled socially, but it won't be when compared to other bonobos.

The fact that autists can communicate with each other does not fit typical models of disability. A blind person should be blind to another blind person.

hoppp··on Meta reaches $17B settlement over social media harms to children
Not a bad idea!
hoppp··on Meta reaches $17B settlement over social media harms to children
Im not confused. A lot of the context you are inferring is just in your mind.

It's funny to see someone invent a narrative then have a conversation with himself while trying to gaslight another person that they invented the narrative.
