hmbg··on I Support the WebKit Monoculture
The OP's argument seemed sort of sensible to me until I read this. Ideas need to compete. If it's not Gecko vs Webkit, it'll be Webkit vs other branch of Webkit. Monoculture will only last until "Why don't you accept my pull request, when this is obviously a better way of doing it? Because it's not better. Go fork yourself."
hmbg··on 3 Weeks already, $0 income – what are we doing wrong?
I'd love a non-technical co-founder, if I could only find one. Most business-oriented people I meet like being employed. The only people I meet that are interested in startups (interested in building one, rather than having built one, successfully) are engineers with less panache for sales than I have.

I'm in a similar situation as the OP, and to be honest I'd be willing to give a lot away to have someone handle the sales & marketing end.

hmbg··on Web browser market share of all times visualized
Half-agreed. A stacked area chart would be perfect for this.
hmbg··on Chefs' food 'worse' than ready meals
When I do think about what I'm eating, I use the "Eat food, not too much, mostly plants" rule.

Ready-made meals frequently don't quite meet the first criteria for me, so I couldn't care less about 10 grams of fat.

hmbg··on Thinking the unthinkable
"Quite the contrary, there aren't enough guns"

I struggle to find an example of a country with more guns and lower murder rate. Care to help?

hmbg··on Web Discussions: Flat by Design
I very rarely have rewarding real-life discussions involving more than 50 people. Online I've found tools that make this possible. Like threading.
hmbg··on Surprises When Designing An iPhone App
I'm just an amateur, but I like to design as much as possible in vector graphics (I use inkscape) and then switch to bitmap (gimp for me, photoshop for most I guess) for the finishing touches. Makes it so much easier to scale stuff.
hmbg··on Things we did wrong as a startup
Thank you. I can't count the times I've tried to explain this to people. The purpose of amazon's site is not that visitors think it's pretty, or even easy to use. It's to get you to buy as much as possible. And there's convincing evidence that it's quite successful in fulfilling that purpose.

Why do supermarkets put the most frequently sold items at the back, when it would be so much easier for customers if they were right by the entrance?

hmbg··on The Power of Negative Thinking
When I read negative thinking, I expected the "expect the worst and you won't get disappointed". This is more of imagining the worst thing that could happen, and realizing it's not that bad. Which is not really pessimistic; maybe rather optimistic by proxy.
hmbg··on Most lives are lived by default
"Skillful attachment", what a wonderful expression! Doesn't seem that widespread, google-wise, but it definitely goes in my decidedly not very Buddhistic list of rules to live by.
hmbg··on Foreign Language Learning Hacks
I've been working on a variation of this with a connection to a flashcard app [http://www.vocabulous.net]. Basically whenever you look up an unfamiliar word you can tap "add" and it ends up among your flashcards.

Now I just need amazons book catalog, and it'll be awesome...

hmbg··on Foreign Language Learning Hacks
Very true. One way around that is to put more than one word on your flashcard; a phrase of five-ish words enough to study in that way, but long enough to show some grammar and context ("the elephant has a long trunk").
hmbg··on Piracy Cripples iOS Game in Less than a Week
Feels like there has to be a way for them to authenticate the paid-for copies that's cheaper than refunding all of their customers.
hmbg··on Command & Conquer in HTML5 with multiplayer
Ex-neighbors of mine are trying to accomplish this, I think they're working with one of the big game publishers. They have a demo of left4dead on their site: http://gooengine.com/
