Interesting. This reminded me of a thought that I had when I was watching Avatar in 3D: the 3D effect was always focused on a specific part of the scene, and if you focused your eyes on a different part, it looked blurry.

After I thought about it, it made sense: they can only create the 3D effect for a specific focus, otherwise they'd have to provide an individualized effect for every viewer.

I wonder if/when we'll see a solution for this.

That's awesome, thanks.

Unfortunately, I can't get it to work :(

Kinda remind me of Gnome Dashboard:

Ah, those were the days ;)

Yeah...that makes sense. For some reason it wasn't immediately clear to me that it was a plugin.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Wow:

"Sorry — currently we only support Chrome and Firefox. We will support more browsers soon (the next is probably Internet Explorer)."

No Safari? And it's not next on the list? That's a bit odd, given that they support Chrome.

Come out, we'll have a beer :)

Can't attend this week, but I'd be up for it.

Congrats, guys!

Wish I had this for iPhone and/or Android, here's my vote to make it happen.

We went through the Boulder program in 2007, highly recommended.

Love it :) There were some other pretty decent entries at this year's Assembly, too.

If you're using Brightkite, you can get background location on your iPhone using this: http://github.com/HiroProt/playnice/tree/master

Of course, that's a total hack ;)
