While it does appear to work for many, I personally lost about 20% weight or 40lbs, with seemingly zero effect on blood pressure. I do measure it around the same time of the day, same place, nearly same condition... So it is not about inconsistencies of measurement - I had elevated blood pressure for as long as I remember. My BP does respond to exercise (or more likely to body heating up) for short period of time, and to meds, but meds make it very inconvenient since I have to plan it around my day - having meds and working on something outside in Texas heat = too low BP.
One trend I noticed, whenever this topic is discussed in public forums, it attracts a lot of negativity from "just exercise and eat less" crowd (generalizing here). I wonder why it caused so much negative reaction? On the surface it shouldn't matter much, since it does not appear to harm ones who found a way to maintain healthy body without drugs. Yet it reliably causes a quite noticable number of folks to be quite aggressive towards either people using these drugs or companies making these. (Similar trend can be seen in other drugs like THC for example)?
From my experience, it is probably contributing, but certainly not the major way glp-1 work. And I certainly had periods where I would overeat while already feeling bloated or nauseated. Glp-1 certainly does something to the body, that regulate eating on hormonal or neuronal level.
Imho, the problem is that it is hard to estimate trade-offs. Optimizations (not just in computer systems, but in general) often seen as risk-free, when in reality they are not. More often than not one will be celebrated for optimization, and rarely for resilience (dubbed as duplicate, useless work)
In the early period after moving to the USA, for a few years I was tracking money in and out in great detail. Including splitting checks from stores. And while I did not set explicit budget, I believe it allowed me to keep our finances healthy. And it certainly decreased money-related anxieties, giving me sense of control.
I stopped doing it after a few years, after I felt pretty secure financially. And that certainly coincided with more spending on things that I would otherwise not spend on...
Somewhat adjacent- I recently discovered https://github.com/rofl0r/rcb2 - it can take it quite far without using make file. And similarly to OP - it allows to keep relevant build info right in the source code. (Rcb2 is great at prototype stage, but obviously at some point makefiles are worth spending time on)
I mean.... It is sorta implied. No belarusians are locked up for "unsanctioned public protest" or "spreading extremist information", all of them are locked up to teach them a lesson and promote fear in society of acting or voicing against regime. I do personally know people locked up for 2+ years for clicking the like button (and not after clicking on the button) on the article in telegram. While it is not cached news issue I mentioned above - it is not a leap from one to another. I also know people who's phones were picked up at the crossing border in airport, seemingly randomly, and thoroughly examined. Connecting two together is not a leap of imagination too.
I understand why the regime is posting all these "confession videos" - it is the same propaganda, but aiming to coral people into being afraid to read news. And it seems to work. (And in a way opposition media is helping regime with this task.)
And no, I am not suggesting to not read. Someone on hn is plenty equipped to get through these things technologically, without becoming another piece of regime propaganda and/or getting their life ruined. It is absurdity of what people in civilized country in 21st century are subjected to is what drives me nuts.

I did not notice deliberate attempts like that, but in the vacuum created post 2020 there is not much left to be trusted besides zerkalo. They rely on sources they likely can not verify all the time, and as such they do make mistakes occasionally and post corrections - this indeed happens from time to time. If you have suggestions of better source of news - please share.
I can't find it easily now, but it was Zerkalo reporting on yet another person returning to Belarus caught at the Poland border. The conclusion was that despite not being subscribed to one of the "terrorists channel" (for readers not from Belarus - news channels, that are posting news not in favor of the state), mere opening such channel will cache images from such channel locally. When authorities grab the phone, they make full dump of it and look for illegal stuff. And mere possession of such image is enough to get locked up.
Proposed solution was - disable all media caching in Telegram.
Look up what for people in Belarus are being locked up daily since 2020. Emojis, likes, simply caught with preview of the news cached on their phone... We call border crossing, either on land or thought airport, a "Belarusian roulette", because your never know... And it is not prominent people, just regular folks. And it is not in completely different culture - it is a very close to western traditions country, right across Poland's border...
Something that might be interesting in this topic - forked version [0] of telegram client made during protests in Belarus in 2020 (and appears to be actively maintained to this day). Can't vouch for it, but found it interesting.
From everything I read, in US, in general, outside of specific list of protected reasons, or a contract specifically describing conditions for contact termination, one can be fired at any time. This works both ways - employee can quit any time too. I wouldn't be surprised musk just applied the same logic worldwide and let lawyers deal with consequences
I remember making a demo in 6th or 7th grade of console login dialog and disclosing password asking friends to log in.. they couldn't, because during typing my program would analyze time between pressing different keys.. I absolutely agree, but I am having hard time finding such a person... The one who show up and who will do things right... The thought of trying to find a person like that, are multiple failures, just makes it easier to do it myself, even if I will hate spending time on it.
To me personally it appears that difference in speed is a key to safety it the lack of it. Hence I feel comfortable traveling on motorcycle next to car (relatively of course), but I would not dare do the same on bicycle or golf cart on highway. May be the logic here is the same?
Just a warning - at least some non-dumb Hisense tvs are suffering from flash memory corruption rendering the whole tv unusable, since to switch HDMI inputs to use external sources still require Android UI operating. Google "Hisense low memory" - a lot of perfectly fine otherwise tvs turns to electronic junk just because of that.
Another interesting head scratcher (thank God I never had to deal with myself, but saw the mess it can make in the data easily) are government-enacted devaluations. And probably very similar to the concept, stock splits.
I could not justify labels printer for number of packages we ship (we do sell online, but most stuff is handled by Amazon's fba service). But also had to send federal paper tax forms, because in order to file online you have to confirm address which is done with pin code sent via snail mail to our address and that's wouldn't happen before due date... Also filling property appraisal protests evidence can be done on USB stick or CD disk, but the most reliable way is just to print 5 copies and bring it to the protest hearing... These just recent odd things I had to print. All in all printers are still useful sometimes. The only thing is that with my usage ink printers are no go. So cheapish laser printer, with cheap aftermarket cartridges available in eBay is the way to go for me
Does your office mail anything? That's what is 99% printing we have to do - shipping labels. And some obscure not available to file online government forms.

thanks for the "capacitance hat" search term. from googling it looks like this hat is electrically connected to the antenna? In my case if the "cap" touches the copper wire of the antenna - signal strength decreased. Only when I kept the cap close but not touching the antenna it performed well.
