hexscrews··on RadioShack Suffered as Free Time Evaporated
I would argue otherwise. If you know for a fact that you are not valued, you aren't going to care. If you come into work and find that not only are you mistreated, you are ACTIVELY despised, you are going to put the absolute minimum effort in. And it will show. Employees are humans. Abused humans do not make good corporate interfaces.
hexscrews··on YouTube now defaults to HTML5 video
It may simply be me, but in Firefox, I don't have the option to change speeds. *update: It looks like they haven't rolled out the change everywhere. I had to change it to HTML5. It still defaults to flash apparently.
hexscrews··on How To Marry The Right Girl: A Mathematical Solution
This formula doesn't account for non-monogamous configurations. I'd be interested in seeing a mathematical representation of the maximum bonding pairs a person could reasonably handle.
hexscrews··on Show HN: A browser-based IRC client built on Node.js – first Node project
I'm not familiar with how difficult it may be, so please tell me if I'm off base. But couldn't you offer the option for either text logs or HTML logs? I know that when given the option, I opt for HTML logs for the ease of reading.
hexscrews··on Wifijammer – Continuously jam all wifi clients and access points around you
Why not talk to the admins about doing off hours monkey wrench testing? Find the hotspots that become overloaded the quickest, lag statistics etc.
hexscrews··on To the Mun and Back: Kerbal Space Program
Is anyone else having serious trouble in firefox with this website? I tried to increase the font size for my own personal readability and now the margins are all over the place without being able to scroll.

Gotta love exceeding your system resources in availability. Java + Cookie Enhanced Mode System Resources:314% Free

That's over 214% more system resources! :p

You may be interested in this then. http://pages.stern.nyu.edu/~%20adamodar/New_Home_Page/invfab... It's a fascinating read and may relate to why people are willing to invest in seemly irrelevant markets.
hexscrews··on A Super Ball Bot for Titan
Instantly thought of Barbeau-bot. >.<
hexscrews··on An EEG-Controlled Vibrator (NSFW)
I wonder how it evens out spikes in the readings. I can't speak for others. But as a male who is interested in this toy, I'm curious how it would filter out the signals I use in my, not sure what the proper word be. Anal muscles? Anyway, since I would be concentrating on contracting them, I'm not sure how the toy would interpret it.
hexscrews··on German chancellor’s drone “attack” shows the threat of weaponized UAVs
You might be able to do that, If Brain-Machine interfaces become advanced enough.
hexscrews··on 'Titstare' app at TechCrunch: women in tech deserve better
This was both a massive waste of time and effort. A truly interesting app would be one that measures facial symmetry. Humans tend to appreciate symmetrical features, same length of arms, legs, eye alignment, etc. I can see where this too could be abused, sadly. But at least it would have a marginally better chance to have a market. And it would provide a interesting technical challenge.
