Can't you just offer paid, guaranteed support? People will gladly pay for it.
Vietnam, Central America, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria. Never-ending, ongoing economic sanctions leveled against a myriad of countries which destroy the lives of ordinary people.
Israel, whose oppression against the Palestinians we actively support and fund, blows up an apartment building in the Gaza Strip and it makes the news for a day, and here we are incredulous when this happens in the Ukraine. We are, this very moment, engaged in the wanton murder of civilians, either directly through drone strikes or indirectly via the supply of weapons, like the ones used to bomb Yemenese today.
What then of your sanctimony? Where the hell is your outrage towards and condemnation of Americans, or of NATO or other US allies that tolerate our behavior? Americans and our allies objectively share responsibility for the largest portion of the sum total of evil acts occurring on this planet, and yet most of us, like you, act and speak as if this isn’t the case. Absurd.
Are we the baddies?
P.S I wonder what was extracted in exchange for a Saturday publish date.
Looking at the 2022 FAA budget[1], they asked for $159M for "Engineering, Development, Test and Evaluation" out of a total budget ask of $18B+. That's less than 1% of the total budget.

>According to whistleblowers, GE Aviation’s GE9X engine program suffered from undue pressure on production staff acting on behalf of the FAA. For example, Mr. Kucera described being placed in an untenable position where he was responsible for conducting engine conformity tests on behalf of FAA, while also being charged with preparing GE engines to pass these same tests.
Wow.
When I'm awake it happens during periods of deep day-dreaming.
As I type this comment I've got an image of a girl I saw yesterday fixed in my mind, as if looking at a picture of her.
I also assumed this was the norm.
I have a very "strong" internal monologue, talking to myself all day. I supposed there could be a connection.
Anybody else have similar experiences?

Wowing the natives with shine and magic. Neo-colonialism alive and well in SV. They have to be self-aware, right? Right?!
> Texas has some of the most restrictive abortion laws in the country, and laws could get even more restrictive due to the makeup of the current U.S. Supreme Court. Generally speaking, do you think that laws regarding abortion access in Texas should be more restrictive, less restrictive, or kept the same as current state law?
We used to call that a leading question.
The Texas legislature voted this into law with a sizeable majority. If the large majority of people are against this law, they should organize, vote new people in, and have it overturned.
The problem with liberals is they're just terrible politicians. Everything is an appeal to the courts or their mega-corporate employers to help establish agendas instead of doing the only thing that works: getting bills signed.
Thankfully the use of this argument is generally the loudest signal that can be generated by those who haven't spend much time dealing with the subject in any depth, so it's always a useful tool to gauge how much energy to spend engaging with someone on the topic.
In any case, when activists refer to Free Speech, we are generally referring to the greater principle of Freedom of Speech[2], which has a much broader philosophical and societal scope than the narrow definition of legally protected speech under the first amendment of the US constitution. Apostles for the movement like myself are in favor of greatly expanding the scope of Free Speech protections in the United States and the world at large, and are more generally committed to engineering a deeper appreciation for the broader concept of Freedom of Speech and the enormous influence it bears on our trajectory towards a free society.

It would just be better if people like you just admitted you don’t believe in free speech. It’s a philosophical argument that just goes over your heads.
So which is it?
"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!"
This seems to be the key argument, I've not seen this addressed anywhere. The Files app doesn't compete with Dropbox, if anything it promotes an interface to Dropbox.
See, I can play this game too.
OP disparages people in my sister's line of work as "bottom-feeders", which is just a more euphemistic, if not cowardly, way of saying 'parasite', or 'scum'. My point is to draw attention to the decent people who work as recruiters (I'm implicitly holding my sister here as the archetype of a good person) and expose the original insult as unwarranted. An axe murderer is clearly someone who is indefensible, so could never be invoked as a positive example in argument with a statement like "Axe-murders are the worst people ever!"
Also, an 'axe murderer' is a caricature of a real murderer, used in comedy, horror films etc..., and not a honest counterexample to my sister.
But I digress..., thanks for the note on Totem Poles, I was unaware!
As far as I know that’s exactly how it works.

Also, what’s your objective in slinging insults like that?
